Can anyone point me to the rules concerning getting rid of partial ionization on a big ship?
Would one ionization token stay on the targeted large ship until a second ionization is received?
danke

I believe to Ion a big ship it has to be hit twice for its effect to take place. Even if you get Ion token once, it doesn't effect your ship and is gone at the end of the phase. I think this is it but I could be wrong.
As per the insert from the Firespray/Millennium Falcon/probably Shuttle, if a large ship receives a Ion token, it remains on the ship until another token is added, even if it's the following game turn. Then the ship suffer the Ion effect and all tokens are removed.
So they only way to remove an ion token is to suffer the ion effect?
Yes, that is correct.
I'm not sure about that interpretation. To my understanding it could also be read as: During activation, when a ship has 2 or more tokens assigned to it, it suffers the effect (checking condition, if met suffer consequences); Then the player removes all ion tokens at the end of the activation phase (no matter if conditions was met or not).
Can someone clarify that?!
From the large ship insert:
Some card abilities may cause a ship to receive an ion token. A large ship is unaffected by a single ion token: the ion token simply remains assigned to the ship. When a large ship has two or more ion tokens assigned to it, it suffers the ion token effect as normal. Then the player removes all ion tokens from the ship at the end of the Activation Phase.
So, here is says the token remains assigned to the ship. The removal text is dependent on the ship suffering the ion token effect. Until we get a different ruling from FFG in the FAQ, this is the accepted interpretation.
Edited by SableGryphonOops. We've been playing that you need two ships with ion effects to stun a large ship because we cleared them off at the end of the turn.

Heh awkward .
Nope, a single ion token on a big ship will just hang around as a reminder, until such time as the game ends or that ship takes a second ion token, in which case it reverts to the normal rules; next round do a white 1 straight, remove the ion tokens, action as normal.
maybe some future upgrade will allow you to remove them...
