The Conclave of Shadows. (A theme idea for my battles.)

A secretive organization known to very few. They operate from beyond the Outer Rim. The Conclave have loyalty to none and hire out to either side in the Galactic War. They have no known names outside of their organization and new recruits are very carefully chosen.

The idea of the squad below is to allow me some theme in my battles. There are no invented pilots, ships or cards, so it's all legal. I will record the Conclaves battles as a story. If a ship is destroyed I will roll an attack die, on a crit, it will be permanently dead. The next in order will move into the Conclave number slot and a new ship of the same value will be chosen.

All my battle squads going forwards when I use Rebels will be chosen from the Conclave list. It may not be optimal, but it will be fun.

Every ship in the list is being painted "Stealth Black" and I'll post some pics as I get them ready.

You could use one of the Random Draw rules to pick "new recruits" as your pilots die off. I see the squads becoming increasingly weak as time goes on.

Also you can have part of the story include your Rookies and such get better over time. Maybe after surviving a few battles, they become a named pilot. Maybe you roll the evade die for each pilot at the end of the match scoring experience (blank = 0 xp, focus = 1 xp, evade = 3 xp). Create a leveling system and either choose the named pilot randomly or based on the story (Conclave 10 lost his friend Concave 11 in a battle and swore to never lose another friend and thus becomes based on Biggs for future games).

That was sort of the idea, was to replace "dead" ships with a total equal value, so if I was down 50 pts after a game, I could buy 50 pts worth of ship. Not just replace like for like.

The Conclave could grow or shrink in size.

It's also why I incorporated a good spread to start with. Also, if Conclave 1 "dies" I can just buy the same ship but not have it be Conclave 1 :-)

Let's say Conclave 5 is destroyed, maybe I use Han or Lando as a replacement. Same points. "New" pilot.

For a battle, I might send Conclave 1, 3 and 6 that's 99pts.

Another time 5,6 and 9.

It's fun, but still effective.
