So what Inventions did your Engineers design?

By DurakBlackaxe, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

My dwarf engineer is currently crafting a Superior Hochland Rifle.

Am going to call it a dwarven bolt action rifle.

Due to being Superior it loses its unreliability

The invention i have called the simple name.

Dwarven Bullet

Using one of the special rules for the options.

  • Remove reload
  • Add a CR for the power of the bullet
  • Add a pierce 1 for the same reason

As all inventions come with Unreliability 2.

Failing would be the case of the bullet jamming in the rifle.

Would need to craft a batch of bullets.

I couldnt seen how a scope would reduce reload time, so thats why I had my own invention.

Disadvantages, you cant just pick up someones powder and shot and use it. You have to craft your own invention. Take time and money. You always be worrying you have enough Bullets to last until your back to a crafting station.

Advantages. You get to show those pesky wood elves, who has the better weapon.

Explosive Bolts (for Repeating Crossbow)

Roll challenge dice - if Chaos Star it will not explode.

10 damage (tou+soak apply) (no splash damage)

Range is limited to medium (no overextending)

1 barrel contains 10 bolts. Player needs to decide which chamber is filled with which ammo type.

Scope

+1 yellow die on attack roll

Great ideas!

I've removed inventions and runesmithing from my game. It feels silly, the bits are extremely fiddly and it works against the delicate balance of the dice pools.

I will allow "magical" weapons to have a lower crit rating though, as I rarely see players spend 3 boons on a crit.

Mk 2 flocksummtroculators - inflatable rubber water wings worn under the clothes for dwarves (they sink in my game). Inflated by a discreet pump in the pocket which the wearer has to squeeze vigorously and repeatedly.

Oh yes, credit where credit is due, they were invented by Callidon, sort of blow up boots for endangered stunties. They have been largely superseded now for the more discerning adventures by the Mk II or ladies flocksummtroculators

'a number of flattened rubber hoops sewn onto a

pair of leather underpants. There is an abundance

of straps and shiny buckles, and each ring has a

small pipe expertly attached, which extend to a wide

belt that features a small metal flute shaped buckle

attached to a pocket watch'.*
