Just how prehensile are twi'lek headtails? Are they prehensile enough to have blowtorches strapped to them and be used?? Thanks
Twi'Lek headtails
Not really, no. I'd liken them to a cat's tail. They can be controlled, and are useful for certain things, but aren't legitimately prehensile.

Blink. Blink.
...I don't even want to know.
My suggestion would be no.
I've only delved into certain points of EU, but honestly, when I read that in the Core Rules book, that was the first I heard that the Lekku were prehensile.
A more important question would be "can I use them for quadruple wielding?"
I'd say they're not prehensile enough to be used as an extra set of hands, especially for any task that requires a considerable amount of manual dexterity to accomplish.
I think Reltastic's post is a pretty solid analogy, given that Twi'leks use them to add emphasis or convey additional meaning in their conversations to other Twi'leks while not letting those not fluent in the headtail lingo in on the fact that more information is being passed than what's actually being said.
The Lekku aren't prehensile at all. They are capable of moving and so are used as part of communication amongst Twi'leks, but can't wrap around something or provide the fine motor skill needed to aim something or work a trigger.
You're not going to be choking anybody with them, if anyone asks... ![]()

Well, apart from the Twi'lek to whom it belongs... maybe he falls asleep and it gets pulled just a tad too tight... >_>

Alien lekku syndrome... it's a terrible affliction (but an interesting quirk).

It's got to be hard finding a comfortable position to sleep on those things.

Ha!
I feel like it probably means they're seen as phallic symbols in Twi'lek community in the same ways that a guitar or a big gun or a car is a 'phallic' symbol in our world ![]()

I dunno, remember that Londo Mollari used his "tentacles" to help cheat at cards.

He was an Ambassador, and then an Emperor. Never a Senator.
And for the record it was Londo, not Lando. Different scoundrels.

Whoops, too much Star Wars on the brain. Thanks ![]()

Says they're equivalent to hair. So no prehensile qualities at all.

I know. I just mean that he could teach a Star Wars Senator a thing or two.
