Green squadron expansion idea:

By Portage, in X-Wing

Green Squadron, or Green Group, was the name of a number of starfighter squadrons that served the Rebel Alliance and New Republic throughout the Galactic Civil War. The expantion box could come with two starfighters, 1 X-wing and 1 A-wing. All pilot cards could be unique.

1. X-wing

Stevan Makintay , also known as "Mak," was a Human, When the Galactic Empire annexed Hargeeva in 7 BBY, Makintay used the opportunity to attend the Imperial Academy and learn how to pilot starfighters. Makintay flew T-65 X-wing starfighters for the Alliance, and was stationed at Echo Base on the planet of Hoth as part of the fighter complement. After Hoth Makintay was transferred to Eyrie Base on the planet of Karatha, where he commanded Green Squadron.

3 .A-wing

Green Wing was the call sign of a male member of Green Squadron, a Rebel Alliance RZ-1 A-wing interceptor unit that fought during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY. During the Alliance Fleet's engagement with the Imperial Navy above the Forest Moon of Endor, Green Wing flew into combat alongside Gold Leader General Lando Calrissian, Red Leader Commander Wedge Antilles, and Blue Leader Merrick Simms in an attack on the Empire's main communications ship, which had been jamming the Rebel Fleet.

As the four pilots moved in on the Star Destroyer, Green Wing's starfighter was hit by enemy fire, and he crashed into the communications ship's forward batteries. This sacrifice enabled Calrissian and Antilles to destroy the warship—though Simms was killed as well—and stop the Imperials' jamming of the Rebel flotilla. The Alliance forces would go on to destroy the second Death Star and win the battle, despite many casualties.

4. A-wing or X-wing

Jake Farrell was a Human male starfighter pilot who served in the Galactic Republic prior to the Declaration of a New Order. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire at the end of the Clone Wars, Farrell became an instructor for the Empire, but retired from Imperial service after a series of increasingly ruthless missions. He eventually came out of retirement and joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic, teaching Rebel pilots the skills needed to fight against the Empire. Known as a top X-wing pilot, Farrell flew a modified R-22 Spearhead during the Battle of Yavin. His experience with the R-22 led to him being selected to help design the new RZ-1 A-wing interceptor, which was based on the R-22. When the first A-wings entered service, Farrell transferred to an A-wing squadron.

By the time of the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, he was considered to be among the best A-wing pilots, and so was chosen to fly with Green Squadron in the assault on the Imperial battlestation, the second Death Star. Participating in the starfighter attack on the Death Star's main reactor, Farrell followed the order of Gold Leader Lando Calrissian to break off his run and head for the surface of the station, drawing off some of the Imperial TIE fighters in pursuit.

I also think this could be the start to additional expansion like Rouge Squadron or Blue Squadron. Example for Blue Squadron you could look for new pilots like Keyan Farlander, nicknamed Lucky. This is just an idea.

All the information about the pilots was found on http://starwars.wikia.com

What would be the makeup of Rouge Squadron?

At first blush it sounds like it would be a mostly cosmetic update.

Mostly cosmetic with a few new pilots, special abilities would mostly only work with the squadron and system upgrades for unique pilots.

Rouge Squadron is big with many pilots spanning over many years in the Star Wars saga. Rouge has had nine commanders with many more pilots and support crew so options would be endless.

Maybe for Rouge Squadron special abilities would have to refer to the X-wing class starfighter and not specifically Rouge Squadron.

I see what you did there. Well played :D

i like ur A-Wing pilots. i agree the A-Wings need upgrading/improving in some way as they dont make many squads... less that 10% of rebel squads id say.

imo they need a more offensive upgrades to complement their high agility. perhaps a title card for the A-Wing that makes upgrades cheaper or even some ship specific upgrades :)

rouge = color red in French

rogue = the word you want

I think a 27 costed ps6 pilot with EPT and that ability is way undercosted. Even if the rerolls were limited to range 1. It would be an auto-include in every single rebel squad I'd use.

Thank you

I missed the rouge vs rogue.

The re-roll could only be used for green squadron pilots.

We'll see some squadron stuff if imperial aces sells well. The ships you listed might be a bit overpowering but the named pilots match up at least. Re-rolls are powerful. Granting them to other ships doubly so... Howlrunner is still everywhere for a reason. HSF is still around based on his reroll abilities. 3 loaded Xwing squads would get very dull to play against very quickly.
