Want More Video Battle Reports?

By drylndsurf, in X-Wing Battle Reports

I love video battle reports for this game. I devour them whenever I can find them. A big thanks to all of you out there that have been posting them.

Still, there are not very many out there and I'd love to see more.

I'm considering starting to do some of my own and trying to do them on a fairly regular basis. I wanted to see what kind of things everyone likes and dislikes about video bat reps.

What are some things you love to see in video bat reps? What are your pet peeves?

I like how team covenant did their videos of nationals. My only peev is rebel scum :)

I love Vid bat reps as well. The tricky part is how much time you can invest into creating one. I've done a couple and haven't had a lot of time nor experience to edit it, so its usually just the basics (and usually rushed). Plus I only have a tablet to record video and sound :(

Personally, I like to see how movement went (with explanation preferably in order, but its not a big deal), and then what happened after shooting. Sometimes in reports its done at the end of the whole turn, so its very hard to figure out who moved where when the ship is missing from being shot down. Oh, and if you do show dice rolls, try to call out what they are, since almost every camera I've seen can't pick up the symbols so all I can tell is if it is a blank or not.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm sure the time and effort needed to make a decent bat rep is what makes them hard to find.

I agree with you, Texx. Seeing the movements is preferable. I actually like to see the whole game, uncut because it gives the best sense of what is going on.

Also, good point on calling out the dice. It's something I've noticed in a few as well.

Those were excellent videos. I wish I had the time to do something that polished, but it would probably have to be much more simple than that. :)
