So I've been wanting to make a flatline deck for a while that isn't SE and what I landed on was NBN's ability to advance cards quickly coupled with Ronin. Idea is Junebug/Snare, False Lead, Psychograpics or Astroscript Pilot Program to Advance Ronin from hand. Too optimistic? =)

Should be enough cards to make tags stick with Midseasons, Ghost Branch, Data Raven and a Big Brother. Maybe low on economy, not sure. Flatlining-chances are grantedly optimistic but still a threat and maybe you don't expct Net Damage from NBN. Have yet to try it. Just playing around with deckbuilding tools.

Ps. Sorry for the weird Influence dots, forgot to choose an Identity so it just counts all influence from all factions,

Yeah I don't think you have the economy needed to get this going. As soon as the runner starts getting the tags he's going to know something is up and will be more careful running. You're not keeping him out of your servers with the ice you have (and you're not rezzing tollbooths or Flares anytime soon) and he won't let you keep your private contracts or marked accounts up to get the economy going. So your real hope is that the runner runs on his last click, hits a snare, you have the 4creds for the snare to hit him plus you have enough false leads and AsPPs scored (plus enough to actually pay for the psychographics after just paying 4 for that snare) to get Ronin up to the 4 advanced tokens needed and then win? Good luck with that. This deck begs for Scorched Earths instead of those Ronins. Yes I understand that everyone runs plascretes nowadays but trust me you have a much lesser chance to win with the ronins then you do with the scorched earths.

Yup. I scrutinized it myself and came to the same conclusion. 4 for snare and 4 to advance won't happen, or is at least very unlikely. Won't touch SE with a stick though. They really did screw up Ronin didn't they? Four to advance for three damage is silly really. Hopefully they will produce a decent When-Tagged-Net-Damage.Card for Jinteki soon to make flatlining an interesting option.

Still like snares in NBN or some reason. Maybe I just like snares =)

Card I would like to see:

When accessed: Pay up to 1(x) credit to deal x netdamage. x is the number of tags the runner has.

Wanna run RND with six tags? well then i just pay six credits and you flatline. They need to make running centrals scarier than it is at the moment, and make collecting tags more of a problem.

Ronin works on the premise that you install and advance everything twice. He sits there looking like a failed ambush, then suddenly, SNARE!, Forfeit a False Lead, and finish of with Ronin. Obviously other tactics are viable, but he seems to me to be built around the shell game.

Do you have any good deck-idea built around Ronin? I like the card idea, just think it should have been more powerful. Like advance 3, or 4 Net Damage.

I don't personally, but I did read an article a while back with a good overview of how to use to good effect in Jinteki. I'll see if I can find it again and drop the link. Wouldn't really know how well it applies out of faction.

I'd think you could bluff it's a trap very easily and if they see midseason, psychographics, big brother or one of your two actual traps it just just seems more obvious it's a failed trap. Ghost branch is especially nice for this as even if they run it and you hit 0 credits while they are running it it could quite easily be a ghost branch.
