Wedge + Biggs Combo

I'm probably not the first to think of this combo, but it looked interesting to me and I was thinking of gaming it next opportunity:

Should come in about 99 points.

The basic idea is Wedge and Biggs plus the A-wings approach together so that Biggs can take all the fire. With 2 evasion + 1 for R2-F2 + 1 for stealth device you are rolling 4 evasion on odds are 2 attacks. At 3 range it only gets better with 5 evasion. And if you get unlucky and someone scores a hit, hopefully it is a crit so Wedge can take it instead and fly it off with R2-D2.

Should get all 4 ships into brawling range without taking any serious damage where you can peel off the A-wings and keep Wedge with Biggs. The best part of the A-wings is since they are pilot skill 1, you will always move them first so you can try your best to just get in the way and set up shots for wedge and Biggs. And if they die, it is no big deal.

This is a well known combo. The runner up at Gencon played a Luke/Biggs/Wedge list much heavier on Mods than you are. Just so you are aware, stealth device will fall off even if you use DTF to move a crit since the original ship is still "hit". See the rules forum for this.

With some clever flying Biggs can survive a decent amount of time, but honestly more often than not he will die in the first couple rounds of shooting, even to TIEs (the Gencon winner ran a 7 TIE swarm), Its best not to rely on him to do much more than keep your opponent from killing Wedge (or whatever other ship) outright

The problem I see with this list is they will certainly kill Biggs ASAP and then Wedge will go down shortly after, leaving you only 2 A-Wings left. You will want to have pretty much won by this point, because 2 A-wings arent much of a threat to anyone. If it comes down to your As versus 3+ Ties or 2+ any rebel ship, you will almost always lose. There are several lists that will give you trouble. In particular, TIE Bombers, TIE Interceptors, and B-Wings/Y-Wings.

The 4xBomber list is particularly bad for Biggs these days, since Assault Missles will likely kill Biggs and strip your other ships of shields unless you forego Biggs' ability, Which is also risky since it leaves Wedge exposed.

Fly in a block where Biggs is furthest away but in R1 of everyone. Wedge swarm biggs so that biggs fires BEFORE he dies.

Only lost 1 game with this ever. Then got bored because vs swarm it either mullered or got a draw.

The three x-wing build Hida mentions above is pretty powerful when flown well. I like that you've used Wedge offensively and given him the ability to soak up crits as well, whereas in the three x-wing list, Luke does that.
