Black Squadron Pilot w/ Draw Their Fire

As opposed to my gencon squad, I dropped the PTL due to stress issues. While most of the time it was great to have both a focus and evade, normally only one ship was attacked per round leaving my other ships stressed for no reason.

Determination negates pilot crits and helps with damage mitigation. Same for Elusiveness and DTF.

The stealth devices help combat the amount of missile salvos going on. While Squad lead can allow me to benefit from the 2 action buff without PTL.

DTF Also helps keep howlrunner alive if a crit were to pop up after handing off her action.

I know a lot of people want to see swarm tactics but I just don't like swarm tactics in this squad since it really isn't meant to swarm.

I'm a big fan of the stealth devices, especially on ships that already have 3 agility. I agree with push the limits, it works much better on named pilots with stress benefits or negation. unfortunately I haven't spent much time tweaking imperial lists as i'm a rebellion fan at heart..

I would like to mention I've been tossing around ideas on the squad builder for a 5 ship rebel list and it really seems that the imperials have an edge in 5 ship lists..

Not sure that I would use DTF it only lets you draw on critical hits....

Not sure that I would use DTF it only lets you draw on critical hits....

It's there for exactly that, since my main threats are my interceptors and howl, throwing the critical hits elsewhere can keep my main attackers alive. Also I can bounce critical hits around between the two pilots. Say one BSP gets hit with two critical hits, I can send one to the other BSP and instead of one dead ship I have two Ships still able to attack/move next round.

I suppose that makes sense....just from die rolls there is a smaller % chance that critial hits will pop up. Finding something that will stop just the reuglar hits might be a better idea..IMO

regular hits are supposed to be negated by the high AGI of the squad.

Shields boost that on my heavy hitters

Changing some Points around I got this

Howlrunner

-Squad Leader

Mauler Mithel

Saber Squad w/ Stealth

Saber Squad w/ Stealth

BSP w/ DTF

I loose one DTF but gain another 4-range 1 shooter. I would hate to have a PS lower than 4 since I really want to take out those snub fighters before they get to shoot. At this point I could loose Squad lead and add in Swarm Tactics to run mauler/howl/BSP in a single pack and the two sabers on their own.

I am dropping the determination in favor for adrenaline rush. This allows a powerful kturn second firing round

Dropping Determination for Adrenaline Rush is certainly an idea. If you can scrape the points together, getting Elusiveness instead of either is particularly amusing with a Stealth Device on a 3 agility ship. Doesn't stress you every time like Push the Limit does, so you still get your action... which can be an Evade, making you almost immortal. Can't kill what you can't hit.

After running the squad a few times I have moved it to this build with consistent success.

Howlrunner

Mauler Mithel

Backstabber

Saber Squadron PTL

Saber Squadton PTL

I am currently at 99 points and thinking about keeping it that was to fight other swarm builds

Ruining this tomorrow will have a battle report

I don't see the point for Determination on generic pilots, I am sure I am missing something. But Determination was never an upgrade that I thought was worth its points.

I would lose determinations and draw their fire that is 4 points

Drop Saver Squadrons down to Alpha Squadrons that is 6 points

Drop Black Squadrons down to Academy Pilot that is 4 points

That is a whole 'nother ship.

With all the low pilot skills you might want to change squad leader to swarm tactics none of you ships rely on taking two actions.

If you can find the points I also like giving Howelrunner as shield upgrade

If you don't like having more cheaper pilots you might want to look into tradeing some things to give your Interceptors shield upgrades.

Determination means you don't take damage if it is a pilot crit. You DISCARD the damage card.

Unfortunately dropping people down to lower pilot skill isnt what I want to do nor do I want to run a full swarm
