BastionKains Custom Fillable Sheets

By BastionKain, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Spent some time playing. Love the game. Didn't like the Character sheets provided.

So, I made my own.

Figured I should share with the community.

** EDIT** Fixed some Tex box formatting issues that were brought to my attention. text that is entered should now be more consistantly sized and spaced. 10-08-13.

Here is my version of the Character Sheet .

Most of the information in these is self explanatory. I'll explain the things I think might not be so obvious.

On the top of the Personal Acquisitions Sheet (part of the main character sheet) to the left of available credits is a table designed to display any recurring income. To the right of Credits Owed is a table designed to help remember who you owe those credits to and why.

On the Group Sheet there is a section for Shared Character Benefits, this is intended to help the player remember any benefits that another party member gives that may help them. The Group Acquisitions sheet has a table similar to the one in Personal Acquisitions sheet to keep track of recurring income.

There are two vehicle sheets. The first is for small vehicles (silhouette 4 or less) and the second is for large vehicles (silhouette 5 or more).

The Components Section for the small vehicles does not have the Landing Bay (ships of Silhouette 4 or less can't have one). The rest of the Components section is identical on both sheets. Keep in mind that a small vehicle doesn't have a "bridge" that can be hit by a critical, but it still has a cockpit or other area from which it is piloted (unless its a droid ship). Likewise, small ships don't have hittable "landing gear".... even though I’m assuming they all still have some. I assume the way FF set up Critical component hits based on size was designed to make it less likely that you will be killed in a small craft.

I on the other hand like to see that yes.. my small fighter does indeed have landing gear. I also think fighter combat is and should be insanely dangerous so I left all those other components in.

Next to the components and Weapons is Damage severity indicators. I added these for added flavor. laser blast crits but doesn't do much over all damage (sensors go down, but its a 'minor' critical. shouldn’t be too hard to fix once you’re out of the thick. Lets hope the sensors don't get hit again).

I know that these sheets are a bit crowded. I like having as much information as possible at my fingertips. Keep in mind they were constructed and intended for use on a computer or tablet in their pdf format. If you use them on a tablet, i suggest NOT using the full, combined sheet as it will run very slowly most likely. They can be printed but remember to go with the smallest page margins possible. If you print them, i hope you have small handwriting

Hope everyone Enjoys.

Wow, these are very nice sheets. Well done, i really like them.

These are great! Thanks for sharing.

Can we get a copies of the Vehicle Sheet seperated, not a combined Large/Small? I like to save my fillable PDFs, not just print them.

These are excellent! I can see this being super useful on a laptop or tablet. Will give them a go at my next group game.

Excellent work on these! I wasn't completely satisfied with the provided sheets either but didn't have the skill to make may own so thanks for sharing!

Impressive.

Most impressive.

Awesome job lev the group credits/equipment sheet

Awesome work, they look great!

Are you able to make print-friendly versions, without the background? Would be a tremendous help on ink costs. Also helps all us non-Americans when printing onto A4, as the top & bottom borders will be less obvious.

I usually print all my character sheets, group sheet, vehicle sheets, etc out for a session, and usually print new ones for each new session, so ink costs can quickly spiral out of control!

Sweet!

Anything printing just text you can be using draft mode on your printer and easily save 15-20% of your ink.

Color me impressed! This will make things MUCH easier for my group!

Thank you for making and sharing these!

Indeed. These are great. Thank You!

Is there a way to save the info, once it's been typed in?

Try them in Acrobat Reader XI.

I really love these.

However, are the dice pool meant to have icons? I'm getting green question marks and yellow capital As, and they're somewhat hard to read. I'm assuming it's probably on my end, but I wanted to be sure.

Foxit it allows saving of fillable PDFs and is free.

I'm not sure if you can actually downoad XI currently. My Adobe Reader is the most current available from their website and it's an X. I know their website SAYS it is XI, but it isn't. Did they roll it back due to all of the complaints? As far as I can tell you can still only print out fillable forms with X, not actually save them. I've used Foxit for years to do this for me for free - Open with Foxit, edit, save. You end up with your saved form viewable with Adobe or any other PDF viewer.

Try to download it directly rather than trying to do an update from within the software. I have Reader XI on my system, but I had to get it straight from their site as the previous version of Reader didn't seem to show it as an upgrade. Also, Reader is Free as well.

I really love these.

Should be Green diamonds or Yellow Octagons depending on what info you have filled. Not sure what the problem may be. solving that kind of issue may be a bit beyond my pervue.

Get the edge of the Empire font~

These are pretty nice, good work. I would suggest reducing the number of talents from 22 to 16, along with reducing the Additional Notes" section, to make the lines for the description larger. See if you can give them two lines each with slightly larger font.

I really love these.

No worries. I can (probably) figure this out on my own. Just wanted to confirm whether or not there was an issue.

I really love these.

Sounds like the Font you used for the icons isn't being embedded into the PDF by your software. I worked around that with my pages by making a hidden field of static text with the font and characters in it.

These are phenomenal sheets -- really top notch work!

I've made some personal modifications to the character sheet, updating the fonts, including using the EotE symbols for the dice pool instead of Wingdings. I've also added in a spot for a character portrait, cut the custom skills down to 4 in order to add in a Critical Injuries table, and done a handful of other cosmetic changes. It's still a work in progress, but you can check it out here:

Sasha Character Sheet

One question for you, what are the 5 green Weapon rows for at the bottom of the first page? I put Fists in there since that seems to make sense, but I'm curious what else you might add in there? I was thinking of removing a couple of those rows in order to make each row taller -- which would allow me to use a larger font for improved readability. I would just hate to remove them now just to find out later that they would have come in handy!

Cheers.

The green weapon areas are for Brawl, as well as Weapons that you may not normally carry with you all the time but happen to have on you now. Or, if you for some reason happen to walk around with more than 3 weapons, i wanted to make sure there was space for those who enjoy being a walking arsenal.

You've been firing those two different blasters for a bit. Time to holster them and throw a couple grenades. That should soften them up for your Vibroaxe death charge.

Also, i absolutely LOVE the addition of the small character picture. Hadn't thought to squeeze that in there.. nice.
