The headline says it all, do people believe the aces pack will on sale at the worlds in November?

It seems unlikely as they have not yet announced the rebel counterpart

unless they reveal it closer to the tournament and then have them both for sale

It also seems a bit "fast" for FFG to sell them that quickly compared to the time between announcement of wave 1/2/3 and actual sale of the product, but since they are mostly repaints and new cards rather than an entirely new model perhaps it is possible, but I wouldn't count on it.

They have Wave 1 for sale right now at the Event Center. I think most game stores in the Minneapolis/St Paul Metro have it all in stock.

We are not getting a Rebel counterpart at the same time. I guess you have to follow their other games a bit more, but they tend to announce new products roughly 3 months before release. Remember, Wave 2 was announced at Gencon, with a planned winter release, that kept being pushed back. We also had Wave 3 announced at the Star Wars weekend in May, a little over 3 months before release. The capital ships seem to break the pattern, but I suspect it was because they wanted something a lot cooler to show off than the Interceptor repaints.

There is a really good chance that they will fly over a small shipment of the Imperial Aces pack, to have a little something extra for Worlds. It is within a similar time window to Wave 3 at Gencon.

They are giving the champ a set of special movement templates that say "World Champion" on them.

I just remember what happened last year when the semi finalists received Falcons. One of them put it on eBay and sold it for $300. I'm sure they don't want that to happen again.

Did they get some stuff back in stock? Last time I looked I think they had some TIE Fighters, a ton of A-Wings and Interceptors, big ships, Wave 3, and that was about it.

Good God why? Most interesting thing ever to happen to me there was getting spanked at 1st Ave. To this day I don't know who or why they decided to smack me... But I still remember it.

Of course none of that is in any way related to the OP's post... So to get it back on topic.

They say Q4 so they could very well have them in time for Worlds, if they're legal or not is another question of course. But I can say that they won't be waiting for a Rebel counterpart. For one we don't even know for sure that they will make one, although it does seem highly likely they will. But it's not like they need one to balance the Imp Aces.

As far as them being legal, the only reason I'd see them not being legal is because they don't have enough of them. The pilot cards are nice but they don't change the game that much.

I was there last week, looked like it was all there, but I didn't check individual ships. I was at Universe games a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure they had everything. Maybe I'm thinking Interceptors since they were so hard to find for so long. I'm guessing you are looking for an X-Wing? Give em a call.

Last time I was there, I know they had a ton of Wave 3 stuff. But that was just after the Wave 3 release. Stopped in to buy a HWK, because Mini Market was out of them when I placed my pre-order.

I, for one, am on the lookout for another TIE Advanced and possibly another Y-Wing. Now that TIE Advanced are at least somewhat more viable to play with Captain Jonus around I'd love the option to do so.

And are getting some of their own "aces" in the Gallofree kit, Janson and "Hobbie". Plus, I'm crossing my fingers for a generic PS 5 Rogue Squadron Pilot.

That would be would be a rubbish compromise for the Imperials. I feel like that is a decision that will only serve to make people unhappy on both sides. They really need to at least announce that one is coming farther down the road. I will be getting all three expansions but I would be sorely disappointed if we don't see Imperial big ships it the not to distant future, and rebel aces has potential to inject a lot into regular play so I think it would be a miss if we didn't see that either.

Look, FFG is starting to diversify the X-wing line in terms of products. In addition to the standard Waves of ships, we will be getting the Capital and these repaint/Aces pack. I fully expect this won't be the last repaint/ship enhancer pack FFG releases. But, I don't foresee a Rebel version before Wave 4.

I like the 2 Waves a year schedule, and I suspect we will see an announcement at Worlds for Wave 4 in Feb, keeping with their tendency to announce products 3 months in advance. With the A-wing and Interceptor reprints on the docket, I don't see any more product releases between Imperial Aces and potentially Wave 4. Of course, this is 100% speculation.
