Come on FFG get the reissue of wave 1 ships out there for those of us that have just started playing this game. It's a pain playing a game called X-Wing that I can't buy X-Wings for.
Wave 1 Rant...
They are set for a 4th quarter re-issue. Shouldn't be long.
We'll probably start seeing them in stores by early November, or in time for a Christmas release.
Kind of in the same boat. Decided to get into the game, bought a few starter sets and a couple of other pieces. Took a break, coma back and the first set is impossible to find so I'm kind of short in terms of x-wings and tie fighters from what I want to be able to field. Hopefully we'll have them soon.
There are X-Wings and TIE fighters just sitting at LGS here. One even had a Y-Wing left as well.
A few days ago I found two each of TIE Fighters and TIE Advanceds hanging up at the LGS. Stuff is out there.

Yeah, here in Central VA, I've been to four shops and here is their inventory

- 3 B-wings, 3 Bombers, 2 HWK-290s, 1 Interceptor, 1 Shuttle, Firespray-31, Starter, the owner just got in a restock based on me bugging him.

Here in Augusta GA. Nothing but the big ships, Starters and GF9 maps. Coolstuff is out of X-Wings and Tie Advanced (the two ships I need.) Ebay has them for 40Kish prices. So I'll wait for another run but I hope this is not going to be a trend with this "Non-Collectable" game. It could be hard to bring new players in if they have this much trouble finding base ships.
In canada here and we have a similar issue. I can get my hands on tie intercepted, some a-wing and even some tie fighters and I think I saw an x-wing the other day. But getting a tie advanced and y-wing is just impossible. I too got in late to the game and the only ships that I still don't have are the tie advanced and y- wing. Just can't get them for a descent price. Online pricing right now is just plain horrible.

wave 2 ships were just as hard to get for a while but after the reprint they settled out and have been easy to find in stock ever since. Wave 3 does not seem to have supply issues but that may be partly because the sips themselves do not beg to be purchased in large quantities, especially the HWK and the shuttle
The biggest hurdle for wave 1 reprints is that x-wings and TIE fighters are the most common/popular ships for each faction, but perhaps the variety of ships available now will temper that somewhat. Back when there were only four ship types, owning 7 or 8 tie fighters was more reasonable, but now that you have 12 ships to choose from it's not quite as enticing, especially for players looking for variety on a budget.
Also, considering how long it is taking for the wave 1 reprints to hit stores, perhaps FFG is making sure A LOT of them are being produced before releasing them into the wild. To have them all sell out again immediately would be a bad look, even if the next batch was only a few weeks or a month away. FFG is riding a lot of momentum with this game but now they need to focus more on bringing more players into the game and making sure they can buy ships, since many/most of us that have been playing for a while have more or less already bought all the ships we wanted. Not to mention there will probably be a bit of declining sales among more casual players who have bought all the main iconic Trilogy ships they wanted and have no interest in the various EU ships and repaints that the game will inevitably expand into

I just want to get one more X-wing and Tie Fighter and then I'll be happy....and two more Y-wings.
Both of my local Barnes and Nobels have quite a few wave 1 packs in stock. Plus Target has the basic boxed sets
I didn't know Barner & Noble carried them. Will be driving past one of their big stores here tomorrow and will give them a look. Thanks.

The Barnsies in Bismarck had a lot of Y-Wings and Tie Advanceds. It's actually a great idea to check your local Barnes and Noble. If you have the discount program, you get it with these too!
Just stopped by my local barnes and nobles and saw a starter set with one or two of each fighter expansion. Might be worth checking out one local to you as GrandMoffMatt said.
Luckily i picked up 3-4 of each expansion (only 1 of the falcon / slave 1 / shuttle) when they were first released. I have more problems finding time to actually play a game.. sigh

I didn't get another core yet, but did snap up hobbytowns last two ties a week back. They got wave 3 in and interceptors, which I got some from amazon. I do want an extra set of dice but don't particularly want 6 ties, I want wedge anyway and vader.

Could pre order them from there as well. They have wave one stuff...but $60+ for an x wing...no way. They have imp aces up already even though its not out yet.
I have to say thanks, I forgot about Barnes and noble, swung by one om the way home and they had some and I snagged an x wing.
Tried two B&Ns with no luck. At least I know they're coming one way or another before Christmas.
