Force pack resource match requirements,

By NerdRulez, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Ok. I have a new force pack that I'm trying to understand.

How do I pay for a card that needs 5 resources if I only have two objectives from that affiliation?

Can I pull resources from another objective with a different affiliation?

Yes. Certain enhancements and characters provide resources as well.

Ok So basically I have to construct it to work out right?

Yes. It should be fairly easy - high cost cards tend to come in objective sets that provide additional resources.

Make sure you understand how decks are built in this game - it's not just "pick 60 cards you like".

Do i need to have a total of 60 cards in my deck or something?

Minimum deck size is 10 sets. Making a 50 card command deck and a a 10 card objective deck.

This information is in the rulebook - check it out. :)

Well I have tried to find it in the rule book. Couldn't find it. Can somebody explain how to actually build the command deck? The force pack comes with new neutral unit cards and affiliation unit cards. With a 50 card limit how do swap the cards correctly?

You're looking for page 28, Deck Customization Rules.

Basically, you choose a minimum of 10 objective sets that you'd like to use. Each objective set contains 1 objective and 5 other cards. You cannot mix and match cards between objective sets - that is, if you want to use the objective "A Hero's Journey", you must have in your deck the cards "Dagobah Training Ground", "Luke Skywalker", "Jedi Lightsaber", "Trust Your Feelings", and "Twi'lek Loyalist".

If you get a new force pack, that increases the number of objective sets that you have to choose from when selecting which ones you want to include in your deck. It's probably not a great idea to use every single one in every deck.

Ok. I'm confused. What about all the extra unit cards. Do I just ad all those into the deck or do I have to pull some out of the original?

Everything is done by the sets. Objective and all the cards that come with it. Your deck must have 10 of these sets. The individual cards in them you take all together. Grab 10 sets and sleeve and play. It really is that simple.

What do you mean "extra unit"?

Ok so theres 5 cards per objective deck. That means a total of 50 cards. What if I want to use more objective cards? Do I still keep the 50 card count?

Each objective you have in your deck provides 5 cards into your command deck. Thus, for an 11 objective deck, your command deck would be 55 cards. For the starter decks that have 8 objective sets, their command decks have 40 cards.

You add the objective and the other 5 cards too, you cannot pick and choose cards from a set, you must take the entire set as a whole always. So with one more set the command deck is now 55, 2 more it is 60 etc.

Ok one more thing. Some of the objectives have double the cards. What does that mean? Are they for a 3rd or 4th player?

Every objective card has exactly 5 cards attached. If you are seeing "double the cards" then chances are you are overlooking an objective card somewhere.

Look in the corner of an objective card - see where it says "1 of 6"? Every other card will say "X of 6" where X is a number between 2 and 6.

You can run up to 2 copies of an objective if you want to, but no set has "extra" cards.

Ok ie: If I have 2 of the same objective that I'm putting in my objective set then I will have two sets of the same cards?

Ok ie: If I have 2 of the same objective that I'm putting in my objective set then I will have two sets of the same cards?

Yes. If you run 2 copies of the objective set "Fall of the Jedi" for instance you would have a deck with 2 copies of Darth Vader.
