Coordination vs. Athletics

By angelicdoctor, in Game Mechanics

This is 'settled law', I realize at this stage of the game, however, can someone explain to me why these skills were not combined early on? They seem very closely related. Thanks in advance.

Athletics is your "gross movement" skill. Jumping, swimming, running, and the like. Coordination is your "fine movement" skill. Things like balancing on a rope, wriggling out of binders, or crawling through air ducts.

That make sense?

That is a most simple yet effective explanation. Broad vs. fine motor skills. Much appreciated!
