Emperor Royal Guard Conversion

By Deltmi, in X-Wing

Last week, I repainted one of my Tie Interceptors into an ERG. Tonight, I added the winglets to make it "official". Shout out goes to Pinder for posting his walk-through, as I used that as a guide to make my ERG (www.starwarsxwing.com).

It might not look like a lot, but those winglets are a pain in the rear to make. Probably took around 3 hours to make those winglets from start to finish.

Nice looks good! :D

Looks much more menacing with his additional "official" winglets. Well done.

If anything, the color looks a bit dark...

Yeah, the wash made the red even darker and it made it glossy. I wasn't expecting that.

Don't you varnish at the end? a thin coat of Vallejo Matt Varnish will take that right off. I generally spray with a gloss varnish as that is really tough for gaming, then once it is dry paint on a coat of Vallejo to knock the gloss right off.

I can't speak for him, but I'd certainly vanish after all that hard work.

I like that added detail to the winglets. I've finished my first build and might have to add that detail before I prime.

I'll add the varnish tonight. Wanted to let the paint cure for a day.
