Starfield tiles release date

By Jrescan, in X-Wing

I have a preorder at CSI with the new wave ships which is held because the starfield kit hasn't been released. Has anyone know something about it? It was supposed to be released along the wave 3 but didn't show up.

It's status on the upcoming page is still in development with no expected release date. Anyone heard something about it? Thanks

It went back to "in development".....I would call CSI and tell them to drop it from your order and send your ships.

Thanks I supossed that but wanted to know if anyone had some info. I may change it for other item of the price price to avoid shipping costs.

just stay away from the bottom one.

Yep it hurts your eyes

I just got an e-mail from my preferred online shop saying the Starfield Tiles are due in 2-3 weeks and are available for pre-order. This is in the UK.

Not sure if I'll pick one up. I'm very happy with my GF9 mat!

I love the frozen planet GF9 battle mat. Someone in my game group has the Nebulas. That space station mat is really an eyesore.

I think FFG lost out on a good opportunity by not getting the star tiles to market sooner. There are so many other options for game mats/boards that the FFG tiles seem like a second thought.

And honesty, who wants to setup and breakdown 9 tiles everytime you play? It's just easier to un-roll a mat...

C'mon Man!

I run a lot of events that need multiple mats, so I've actually gone completionist on the GF9 mats. Obviously I'm a big fan of them, since I've got 4 :)

The Battlestation mat isn't my favorite for playing on since it is very busy, but it's great for catching attention when you're running demos at a busy convention.

I cynically wonder if the game tiles made an LFL licensing manager pause and think, "This looks like a board game. FFG isn't supposed to be making Star Wars board games."

It could be that the artwork needed to be redesigned so that two sets can be combined seamlessly. We're almost certainly going to need larger than 3x3 playing areas for Epic play.

But I like the idea of tiles. It really only takes a moment to lay them out, and they may be more convenient to carry around than a rolled map. It's a cool option.

I love the look of the GF9 mats, but two full weeks after ordering I was informed that the reddish starfield is out of stock. I have no idea when they're expecting to restock.
