Someone I just played told me the Heavy Laser Cannon is front Arc only. I have been playing many Firespray's and have been shot from the rear many times by it.

Is this correct? When you purchase a Heavy Laser it is front Arc only?

All secondary weapons use the front arc only (unless they say otherwise). The rear arc on a Firespray is only for the primaries.

As for the why, it's still a consistent 4-die attack that you can use the entire game and doesn't give your opponent an extra defense die at Range 3. It also pairs quite nicely with Krassis

The relevant rule is not in the rulebook. It's in the firespray box. Same for the YT-1300.

Its the same for the shuttle with its zero bearing move its in the rules that come with the ship

If you dont have a big ship of your own then your opponent should have his copy to show you.

On the Slave 1 insert:

" When attacking with a secondary weapon, the ship must still target the ship inside its standard firing arc (unless otherwise specified on the upgrade card)."

I just bought a Slave so I could get the big ship rules. I could only find a Slave, I would have loved a falcon instead.

Hate to brake it to you, each big ship has its own rules, so unless you planning to buy all the ships, just ask someone who has the big ships in your group to read their copy.

The Falcon insert says the same thing, so don't let any of your opponents throw missiles out the side of their ship at you!
