New species announced for Enter the Unknown.

By Shamrock, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I totally forgot about Paizo. I used to buy from them all the time (map packs).

I already pre-ordered from Miniature Market this time around. Shipping is weird. Over $10 for the cheapest UPS, but only $6 for the Priority USPS.

Anyway, wow, there is going to be a lot of money spent on this game by the end. The only stuff I'm not buying are the GM Kits, Adventures, and Career Cards.

Lucky you've managed to resist the adventures and GM kits, I'm only skipping the cards and beta books. I'd love a set of NPC cards though!

Okay, I would totally buy NPC cards, and Ship/Vehicle cards.

I'm also (barely) resisting the AoR beta book.

Yeah, I wasn't really planning on buying it, but the addition of the Chiss is pretty much going to sell it for me.

I wonder how different they'll be from humans as well. I suspect it will either be a bump in willpower or straight 2's like humans with some sort of different "ability".

Blue skinned, red eye vixens they are.

That is because the USPS has those flat rate things, but also because they have something called Media Mailer for books.

I'm guessing the Chiss will have the ability: The Art of War - If you spend an action to look at a species art, you automatically get one triumph when battling said species.

-Or-

We never fire first - Chiss society espouses never firing first, so in first round you may never take the first initiative slot. However, by observing the enemy, you receive 1 advantage on your first attack.

I too am (barely) resisting the AoR Beta. My players are helping me remember that we do plan on getting the final book anyhow. I wasn't going to get any of the suppliments, but if the Chiss are in them, as well as a few new specializations, then sure I'd pick it up. I have a player that would love to play a Chiss, because of the Heir to the Empire Trillogy.

Toydarians.....meh....there are races I'd put before them as well (in no particular order) - Zabraks, Zeltrons, Feeorins, Miralukans, Cathar, Togruta, Bith, heck even the Noghri....all of them I'd like to put in before Toydarians.

My full plan is to completely skip out F&D as Jedi don't interest me or my group of players. However, by that time EotE should have plenty supplements and who knows, maybe AoR will have supplements that really grab my interest as well.

My group (as well as myself) are the complete opposite. If Fantasy Flight announced they were doing Force and Destiny first, we'd be jumping all over the beta for it. Not to say that we're not enjoy Edge of the Empire (which we so totally are), but we're really chomping at the bit to get us Jedi so we can do more than just the Rebellion Era of the Star Wars Universe.

I think it will be awesome to have the OPTION to do basically anything with the Star Wars universe once all 3 games are out. I love the plug and play compatibility of them. I plan on playing this game for a long time to come, so the ability to run different era and style campaigns will be great.

I'm the odd man out it seems. I have ZERO interest in the Chiss. They're so remote and isolated during the time period of the game (0 ABY, although I've started my game in 5 BBY) that they're pretty useless to me and my game. Toydarians are going to feature FAR more in my EotE game than the Chiss.

Wish they didn't lock in so much on the Chiss leadership (not all of them are made for strategy/leadership?). Or are they inherently made for command? I would think maybe Perception is a better skill to work from...?

@Grimmshade

Oh yeah....we're all digging this system! It's perhaps the best version I've seen so far.

@HappyDaze

I've only got the one player that wants to MAYBE try the Chiss. He'd rather play a Miralukan first. In fact, his only complaint is that so far in this system, the choice of races is not what he likes. I've been telling him to be patient and wait to see what the other books hold. I did tell him that perhaps Force and Destiny will hold some Force Sensitive races for him to try. I also said that if need be, we'll figure out how to create a Miralukan. But as far as the Chiss go, me personally.....I'm on the fence about them. They're not despised by me, but they're really not high on my "must have" races.
