Awesome! I was really hoping that they would start up a local league. Sadly Friday's won't work for me. Oh well. Maybe I'll catch some of you guys for one off games and the like.

I believe we talked about this being a more casual league where we tally wins over an 8 week span. Is that what was decided?

I expect we will do 7 weeks of league nights and then distribute prizes (which are likely to be the season 1 tokens, etc). That will mean it will end the week prior to Thanksgiving, then Tony and I will organize the next, likely 6 week, league from there starting after Thanksgiving. I'll go over some other details this Friday, but feel free to PM me if you have specific questions. Leagues are NOT tournaments, so no pressure if you miss a week here/there. We will not be doing formal signups this time around, I will track anyone who shows up, although obviously the more consistent you are, the more likely you will receive prizes at the end, in addition to having a consistent playgroup.

I wrote up something to quick calculate Glicko2 scores for each of the competitors. The time frame computed as the "tournament" or rating period is set to once a week. Now, there were only 4 games played total (8 recorded sessions), so these numbers are probably going to be skewed (10-15 is ideal for Glicko), but they'll be that way equally for all of us.

Each player was seeded with the following initial parameters:

Rating: 1500

rd (rating deviation): 300

tau: 0.5

volitility: 0.06

The computed ratings at the end of the first week are as follows:

• Justin: 1711 (rd: 225)
• Matt: 1586 (rd: 204)

• Corey: 1365 (rd: 254)
• Jason: 1289 (rd: 225)

I suspected I was bad at the game but it stings to see it mathematically verified.

I couldn't make it tonight ($DAYJOB), but I will be there on Saturday at 2pm. I am meeting a friend to play a game of BattleLore and then some X-Wing.

Sadly, my day job starts at 1045p, M-F, so I doubt I could stick around for the duration on league nights. Be happy to swing out there for some casual/pickup dogfighin' now and then, though.

So I showed up just before 9pm tonight (family obligations) but I was the only one. I don't know if anyone else played before I got there but Tony didn't see anyone play.

I might be going to Madness next Saturday, instead of Friday. I'll post later in the week to confirm.

Thats disappointing, know that Justin had plans as did I. I will be there this Friday though, usual time =). No more weddings to attend for a while.

I get one day a week for games and it looks like my day will be Saturday. I am meeting a friend there that day for some X-Wing and a few other games. If we play any X-Wing, I'll report the games to Tony and post the results here. By my count, myself, my friend and his two boys, and another friend will likely be there, that's about 5 people that should be there playing some X-Wing.
