I'm about to start running a campaign for Dark Heresy and I though I would base it around the Ad-Mech rather than the Inquisition. To do this I tried to transfer my Magos from Inquisitor to Dark Heresy as the boss man. Not as a regular character but to get my head round character creation and stuff. Just wandering if feedback was possible as I have little experience with Dark Heresy. Thanks

History
Born on the Forgeworld of Versuvi VI in the year 578.M41. Thrune led an unremarkable life until his 16th year when he joined the priesthood of the Machine God. During his initial studies Thrune did not appear to be exceptional. He consistently performed well in all his duties and his implants integrated themselves acceptably. He demonstrated no particular skills in any of the major colleges and when he was finally declared a Tech Priest Thrune was not affiliated to any college.
This was to finally change after he was assigned to the warhound scout titan Justicar Gregorum of the Burning Gaze Titan Legion. Thrune served on the titan for seven years before the gargant Fumpa managed to smash the main conduit ling between bridge and engineering. Climbing outside to the titan’s hull, Thrune used himself as a living conduit for the information from the bridge to the engines allowing the Princeps to gain control of Justicar Gregorum and destroy the gargant. Thrune’s nervous system was badly damaged by this and he required significant augmentative surgery including a full set of bionic limbs. Even so the damage caused to his biological systems has presented even the best limbs functioning well. After he awoke Thrune found he had been accepted into the Genetor Collegum as an Adept Biologis. Because Thrune had served for a while as part of the titan’s circuitry he had gained a measure of access to the Titan’s memory banks. He worked for the next five years working on the titans of the legio. He learnt the skills of the Genetor Collegum in binding together living beings with machines and understood how much had been lost. At the end of the five years Thrune announced that he was following the Indicium Vultus, the Knowledge Quest. In this quest he has discovered much in the records of forgeworlds that was deemed irrelevant to other researchers and Thrune learnt much about the biotechnologies of the golden age.
254 years ago in the year 745.M41 Thrune’s attention was bought to the Tyranid’s. He has served with titan legions and imperial guard regiments fighting the Tyranid invasion for centuries and was there when Hive Fleet Behemoth landed on Macragge. He has dissected and catalogued over 5,000 different Tyranid species and variants looking for the source of the Hive Mind as he feels that severing the connection is key to stopping the Tyranids. He has hunted down similar organisms found throughout the imperium searching for differences and similarities to the organisms of the hive fleets. This has included a hunting trip on Catachan for the incredibly dangerous Catachan Devil and a request to the Space Wolves Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes to hunt for the famed Kraken (this was promptly refused). He has worked extensively with Inquisitor Kryptman and fellow Magos Biologis Locard over the years. Most notably on the planet Tarsis Ultra where he helped devise the formula mutagen agent to be used against the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan. Thrune Zintorus is considered to have made one of the best studies of the mutability of the Tyranid Genome and the control of the Hive Mind over the individual Tyranid organism. This study finally earned him his status as a Magos at the age of 369 which he has held for 52 years.
In the year 993.M41 Thrune was searching in the data banks of one of the Hiveworlds in the galactic east close to the tendrils of hive fleet Kraken. As one of the hives ceased contact a final message was broadcast telling of a bipedal four armed demon and a strange cult that had taken control. Realising that the demon referred to was a genestealer and the cult its cursed ‘family’ Thrune travelled to the hive and delved deep into its heart. Soon Thrune and his retinue of servitors were involved in a war of power between the cult, the mutant workers and a number of inquisitors working towards their own ends. Before Thrune could complete his work he was struck down by one of those self same inquisitors he had sought to work with. His servitors, programmed to carry his body away in such circumstances removed themselves to the ship that was primed and ready in case of any quick retreats. The pilot took them back to Hive Primus where his Memorum Cortex was removed. The chip was swiftly inserted into the head of Techpriest Enginseer Malaki. Malaki had been part of the imperial guard regiments that had been mobilised against the hive but was mortally wounded when a stray incendiary shell had landed nearby. Malakis’s consciousness as forced to the rear as Thrune’s more forceful personality took control. Occasionally Malaki tries to wrest control from Thrune but has always been beaten back. Thrune had known this was only to be a temporary arrangement and the forges on his ship soon began constructing a body to permanently house his intellect.
In 996.M41 Thrune was on route to Anev IV after receiving an encoded message from an Inquisitor Horst concerning a suspected pre behemoth Tyranid creature. A message from a member of his most holy inquisition was not to be taken lightly. On arrival to Anev IV Thrune joined forces with Inquisitor Vareesa of the Ordo Malleus. She was also looking for Inquisitor Horst as well but for a very different reason. Unknown to Thrune Horst was a known radical and was on this planet searching for heretical artefacts. Once they had tracked down Horst the pair found him conversing with a being of darkness. Inquisitor Vareesa attacked Horst and he fell, unconscious to the floor. The Demon and the Inquisitor soon were engaged in a violent battle. While this was taking place Thrune captured the helpless Inquisitor Horst and escaped the area.
Thrune proceeded to take Horst to his base where he could converse with him without fear of involvement from outside sources. On the way he was joined by Brutus Shartoff, an ex officer of the imperial guard that he had engaged to work for him However just metres from the entrance to the Adeptus Mechanicus complex Horst summoned his daemon host and a young imperial preacher that Horst had convinced of his holy purpose. With his allies present Horst demanded release and answers from the Magos. Thrune seeing his only chance to escape from what he knew now to be a renegade told Horst of his summons. Horst then realised that his daemon host had sent them using his authorisation. Thrune then let Horst to cover his escape into the complex. While this was happening a minor skirmish erupted behind him with Brutus Shartoff being captured. Horst and his allies quickly left the scene with their prisoner as the complex guns trained on them.
Planning to leave the planet Thrune hurried to his shuttle waiting to take him to his ship waiting in orbit. As he reached the shuttle he found the engine being worked on by the engine seers responsible. According to the ships records a shadowy being had appeared in the engine room and sabotaged them before leaving. 10 servitors and 3 enginseers had been killed in the attack. Knowing now that he would not be able to leave for weeks Thrune began planning his revenge on the Renegade who had lured him here for some dark purpose.
Using the vast logic engines in the Adeptus Mechanicus complex Thrune found information on the renegade Horst and his pursuit of certain corrupt artefacts and that he was very close to discover their final resting place. Storing this knowledge he then sent it to Inquisitor Vareesa so that they could stop Horst. A week later the Magos and the Inquisitor prepared to attack Horst and his minions as they attempted to retrieve the artefacts. Unknown to them Horst had already gained two of the artefacts and had given one to the preacher, corrupting his mind completely whilst his mutated into a huge monstrosity. The second item was to be given to a fighter and daemon took over the poor mans body as his soul was devoured. In the final showdown Vareesa, Thrune and his Praetorian Servitor TZ-BG6 stormed into the crypt holding the damned artefact whilst Horst’s minions fought to hold them off. It was a close battle with neither side getting the upper hand. As the melee swirled round the many chambers Horst dragged the unconscious form of Brutus to the dais in the center where a blood red suit of armour stood. Thrune saw what happened next as if it took all eternity. Horst slowly drew a long knife and plunged it into the chest of the guardsman whilst chanting in some forbidden language, allowing the blood to run into the channels around the dais. As if carried by invisible hands the separate armour segments moved to surround Horst before closing around him. As the pieces set themselves on Horsts body Thrune knew he was too late and that there was nothing he could do to help. Soon only the helmet was left and as it settled on his head everything seemed to catch up with itself. A blinding light seemed to focus on the renegade Horst before exploding outwards with huge speed knocking everyone from their feet. Thrune was thrown backwards and smashed into the pillar behind him. Just before everything went black he saw the Horst and his minions disappear into the gloom.
In the year 999.M41, the same year as the 13th black crusade Thrune’s artificial body was finally completed. Allowing more dextrous movement and combat capabilities Thrune would no longer be at as much risk from those annoying inquisitors who so hindered his work. Inserting his Memorum Cortex into the receiving annex Thrune joined with his new body. Starting slowly Thrune tested it, moving his arms and head and then moving onto more extreme tests. He laughed with triumph as he found his had succeeded in creating a body that was faster and more durable than his flesh. He also found that he still had access to Malaki’s memories the personality and force of the enginseer was finally dead. Thrune’s new body was his and his alone. However Thrune started to see Malaki out of the corner of his eyes in times of stress. Sometimes these visions would point Thrune in the right direction and talk to him about old times which was more than a little disquieting.
