Titan wargaming had a 20 person tournament today. So with a whopping 14 games under my belt I thought id take a totally untested list so I could use my second firespray that arrived on friday. I also only got about 5 hours sleep the night before...

First game was vs wedge with r2d2, salm with r2f2, a rookie with r2 and a prototype pilot.

I lost, even after his a wing flew off the table thanks to fel flying onto an asteroid in the final few minutes of the game. My firesprays got focused down, it was mainly wedge that did it though, he's just nasty. We had a turn where 5 ships all bumped, yet he still came out of it on top thanks to his ships hitting each other.

Second game was vs howlrunner, 3 ties and major ryhmer with 2 advanced proton torpedos. He got an early lock on fel, and then managed to smoke him when fel bumped one of my firesprays. However I managed to win with 1 remaining firespray. Guy was good but was trying out a new list so wasn't used to the bomber.

Third game was vs kyle katarn in the moldy crow with blaster turret, y wing with blaster turret and 2 y wings with ion cannons. I made a mistake with my firesprays and swapped their actions, almost taking one off the edge. But I got totally wiped out for the loss of kyle and a few shields.

Forth game was vs darth vader with assault missles and engine upgrade, Turr with veteran instincts and stealth and Fel with push the limit and stealth. I managed to gun down Fel after I blocked his action with a fire spray and removed his stealth, and also drained Darth's shields. We ran out of time, with me having lost nothing and him fel, Earning me a match win (over a modified win, due to killing 33 points or more).

Fifth game was the best, a total laugh. vs trelix with hlc and cluster missile, howlrunner with swarm tactics (useless vs me), backstabber, mauler. My opponent was feeling tournament strain and kept forgetting to do actions, or that my firesprays moved before all of his ships. We had a great laugh and I managed to block him in nicely and focus him down, highlights include fel lining up for a beautiful range one shot on howlrunner only to whiff all 4 attacks. apart from that my dice were rather hot and his weren't, so I wiped him out with no losses.

sixth game was vs turr with stealth and veteran instincts, howlrunner and 4 acadamy pilots. He moved very well and I was starting to shut down. I moved really badly and my dice really sucked. The only redeeming feature was killing a tie (12 points woot) and fel lasting many turns with only 1 hit left (and had suffered pilot damage so was ps0 to boot!). 1 shieldless firespray left and my worst kill result but it was still a fun game, trying to survive with my dice doing their worst.

3 wins and 3 losses with an untested list. I'm pretty pleased with that. Next tournament there is in january and I shall do my best to attend

Sounds like it was fun! And quite a range in builds. Wish I could have made it, but hopefully I can make the one in January.

well done. ur list is pretty solid. 2 slave1s r actually pretty hard to fly, ive tried it. pretty skill intensive, especially from about rnd3 onward when ur trying to get ur firing arcs to line up in the right place.

Aye, I noticed that. I really liked fel too. My main problem with a 3 ship build is that its easier to focus on one of the ships.

there was at least 1 8 ap swarm, and a few other Firesprays. Seemed an even split of rebels to empire which is good

Quoted for truth. People make their own luck, the dice can be as 'swingy' as they like, as long as you are in the perfect position and your opponent is poorly positioned.

Exactly. quite a few games that I lost I moved badly, or crashed into my own ships. I'm not great at moving ships when they move after the majority of enemy ships. I did like blocking people with my ps3 bounty hunters

Nice report. I won a much smaller tournament with your exact list, back before Wave 3 was released. If I was flying it today, I would add intelligence agent to one of the Bounty Hunters to bring the list up to 100, so I would have Initiative less of the time, as Fel really shines when he gets to move last.

I remember I defeated a small Tie Swarm, but I fail to remember what else I faced as it was few months back.

The main thing I did different than from what it seems you did from the photos, was to keep Fel way out of the action letting the Firesprays take the brunt of any attacks.

It was a school of hard knocks learning curve. I'd only used fel a few times before, so didn't use him to his best. But I had fun and that's the main thing! No idea what I will bring to the next tournament. I just had no idea how to approach certain lists/formations. And thats also all the experience i've had with 2 large ships. Though I do intend to run double firesprays more often, I also have many other fighters I'd like to try out
