Too much Calixis?

Honestly I don't know why we couldn'y have some Tau as the enemies as I recall some fluff in BFG saying they had smugglers spreading their goods with the help of Rogue Traders across the Imperium. Perhaps some exotic Tau slaves for particularly debased xenophiles? What about Tau scouts and inflitrators journeying to the Calixas Sector to observe certain phenomena like the Tyrant Star? My point is that if the Eldar who the fluff states have an aversion for the Calixas Sector are given official states, it isn't so absurd to have Tau there aswell. Plus they would make excellant opponents for acolytes with all that advanced equipment and stratigem.

And the fact that Scourge the Heretic (the novel for DH) actually mentions Tau is a good reference of this.

First, I won't buy them, but I would RATHER have seen the time and money spent elsewhere. However, now that I hear it's GW's fault, well, not shocked.

I didn't say I'd have to write an entire system, i just don't follow the line of reasoning called "you can just write it yourself"

And the last thing, true that, point struck me hard and clean. I was one of those peeps waiting from the first whisper of a release, watching the game be pushed, what, a year an a half before release?

All I'm doing is voicing a different opinion than yours. No need to get all "experienced and hard-assed" on me.

And I appreciate the voice. It is nice to see different opinions. But the way you presented your voice, and not to point fingers or insult you, was a bit whiny (or however the word is spelt).

It was similar to complaints about lack of Space Marines. The point is, we all know the the Calixis Sector is the setting, the the Koronus Expanse is connected to that setting (and the Calixis Sector). But nothing is written in stone. So you dont want adventures set in the Calixis Sector or tailor made for the game system/setting as is and you owuld rather have a more generic system. I do agree.

---on a side note, I hate the Career Paths----

But honestly, the adventure says the investigation is on Scintilla, doesnt mean it has to be. It could be easily put on Coruscant if you like. I often use other system adventures and just give it 40K names, Im talking like old D&D modules, like Isle of Dread, Ravenloft and so forth.

I didnt mean to sound all "hard ass and experienced" as that is something I usually leav for my Soldiers when the mess up, not for chatter on forums. Honestly, if you hate the system, the setting, the books or even me, I could care less. But I think the Calixis Sector, its focus and its use is the least of the problems with game and books.

Ive said this before, and Im sure I will say it again, they SHOULD have released a Core Rule book and made Calixis a System Guide Book and Dark Heresy a Campaign Guide to the Inquisition and so forth.

But they didnt. So now we each have to decide how we want to use these books.

But there is a wealth of information out there. You have Kag's Anargo Sector and more just waiting for the use of others.

I just think there are more productive things to do then just complain about it. Id rather hear what changes you are making, why you want changes, how it works in the game and stuff like that then just "give me what I want."

And I know about wanting things not in the books. Thats why I started Unearthed Apocrypha. Thats why I wrote my own rules for Dark Eldar and Hrud and Commissars and Alternate Character Generation rules.
