Product Production Requests - Please Make This FFG!

By plainolewhitey, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I would like to see a mega-adventure trilogy:

Episode 4.5 - EotE adventure.

Episode 5.5 - AoR adventure.

Episode 6.5 - FaD adventure.

Each episode could be played separately with different cast or as a ongoing trilogy.

Along this same lines, a huge adventure that could potentially span all three sources. What you suggest could very well be that.

I would love an adventure similar to d20's Tempest Feud (one of my favourite adventures). It's vast, and an adventure of similar size that uses the SWR rules and expands the length of the three cores would be great.

I'd like a big cardboard map over the galaxy (the one in the core book) to fold out on the table.

player character generator / sheet apps for iOS and Android

and the previously requested adversary cards

I want to see another location book covering Hutt Space like the coming one for the Corellian Sector. Throw in Hutt servant races (Weequay, Nikto, etc.), Hutt yachts, info on Hutt-controlled worlds, and all sorts of other stuff.

OMG YES!

You do realize those that the majority of those who downloaded the scans wouldn't have bought the book anyway no matter if it was offered for 5$ as a PDF? At a guess the minority of those who downloaded the scans already bought the hardcopy.

...and you realize that there is a lot of people who WILL look for one even though they have a physical book?

Yes of course, but since you've selectively quoted only the beginning part of my comment you may have missed the point that the costs of being able to make Star Wars PDFs will probably be a lot greater then the money they make from selling PDFs until the cost of acquiring the license comes down.

My opening paragraph was only about pirates usually not spending any money regardless of format, not about people who have the core book in physical and downloaded a scan to have something to use on their PC.

I like this idea, but with each Faction. One with Black Suns, one for Hutts and one for the Empire... Although the Empire will probably be fleshed out in AoR and fans do know a lot about the Empire already. I know it's Edge of the Empire, but exploring the realm of the under levels of Coruscant would be phenomenal. The 1313 look like is was going to go heavy in to the Star Wars shady underworld, in the lower levels of the Imperial capital.

That makes a lot of sense, and allows FFG to use AoR to flesh out less shady locations and groups. Keep in mind, the Edge in Edge of the Empire simply refers to the lack of law and not the galactic location of the setting.

Books on Black Sun, Hutt Space.

Boxed campaign settings. New worlds, new equipment, new vehicles, new creatures. With adventure hooks (but not railroad adventures), a poster map or two, adversary cards, and maybe tokens.

Cost to make what? It is almost a "Save As..." from the files they use to make the books anyway. That is a slight exaggeration, but it is literally a week or so project for 1 person. So any money made off the PDF is almost all profit. I know a LOT of people who would pay to have the PDF also. Just for searching during a game, it is 100 times faster.

I am pretty certain that there is no higher cost to make things offered in PDF, I believe the current license just doesn't allowed. In fact, I find it interesting that they have even been allowed to make the free release stuff. That makes me wonder if things are laxing... or if it is tied to the reference material that Lucas does not want PDFed (meaning write ups on planets, etc). If that is the case, I would even pay for a truncated version like the beta book.

In anycase, we are at the mercy of the license, and FFG included. One of the main FFG people said on the Order 66 Podcast that they just couldn't do it currently. It sounded to me like "we would if we could"

There is a license for it, but that is a separate expense. That is what was being referred to about the cost of producing PDFs. Making the actual PDF is easy, as you noted, but needing to pay for the RIGHTS to do so is the costly part.

Thank you, at least one person actually read my full post instead of quoting selectively from it!

I'll repeat what I said earlier in shorter form, the legal cost of acquiring the license and extended court battles when some other companies try sue will be way more expensive then just waiting for whatever PDF licenses exist to expire and just fall back to Disney where they can then be rewritten for far cheaper.

This would be amazing!!

The Galaxy Map from the core book as a Wall Chart, ideally made of something tough enough that I wouldn't worry about grabbing it off the wall, throwing on the gaming table and having my players huddle over it / prod it to discus plans.
