Has anybody used CorSec's omniband telescoing stands?

I love the idea of not only being able to the miniatures up to eye level dogfights but beng able to tilt them into the manuever they are making to add a more life like feel to the game. But I'd rather not replace the come-with FFG pegs. For one, I don't want to replace every attachment on every miniature so I can use them interchangeably with FFG bases and the CorSec ones. Nevermind the fact that replacing them all would get expensive.

So does anybody have an idea for how to leave the FFG attachment in yet still add a magnetic piece to the miniature that allows it to cling to the rod AND be tilte manuever like? CorSec uses a sphere on sphere system. I'm willing to use a sphere rod of course but surely there is a little metal dimple I can attach to the miniatures themselves right? Any inexpensive, quality suggestions?

I would try gluing the top of a ffg post to the corsec base.

I have the telescoping rods, but only for use with larger GR-45 transport ships, so that they can clear the tops of YT's, Firesparys, and each other. I haven't used them with stock FFG ships.

The tip of the rod itself is a magnet. If you added a small steel sleeve outside the FFG mounting, that would probably work.
