It will come out with the new Tournament Rules. The new Tournament rules will come out after Worlds on November 7-10th because current rules only allow Wave 1 and 2.

We got the FAQ covering Wave 2 stuff about 4 months after Wave 2 released officially. Ostensibly that was to avoid changing the rules mid-season and having different regionals played with different rules. But then again, by the time Wave 2 released it had been seen and known for months due to the Kessel Run events, and there were plenty of questions stacked up by the time the ships actually hit the shelves for general consumption. While we did get an update around the time Wave 2 released, it did nothing to address any of those known questions.

It also seems that most of FFG's biggest games release their FAQs on the same cycle - the update for X-wing hit at basically the same time as Game of Thrones and the Star Wars LCG. And that cycle seems to be about every six months or so.

We may see a real updated FAQ before February or March, but for them to do so would be inconsistent with everything they've done for the rules so far, so I'm not going to expect it.

As the rules currently stand, no - the Tournament Rules have a specific list of allowed products, which doesn't currently include Wave 3.

That said, I'd be rather shocked if they don't update the tournament rules, at least, to allow Wave 3 for Worlds. Doesn't necessarily mean we'll get an updated FAQ, though.

I've been wondering about this since wave three launched.

I'm sure that they are waiting until the community identifies most of the issues with the new cards before they put out a new FAQ. If they put out a FAQ now it might be in contradiction with something found later, and most certainly incomplete for Wave 3. This wave is still pretty young and I'm sure that more issues that need clarification will be found. But still it would be nice to have now.

They have proven that they can correct a FAQ entry when there is an error pretty quickly.
