Hello and let's chat about voting for Criminal shall we? (From a Shaper lover no less!)

By xodarap, in Android: Netrunner Deck Building

Heya! I'm new here and joined so that I could talk about my favorite game with more than 2 folks. I just got my cards about a month ago and went to my first open game night last night and lost all three games.....and had a freakin' BLAST! I think that's why I love shaper. It's all about the fun! (You only THINK I flatlined. I'll be back!)

Anyway I'll probably post more about my experiences with my silly deck that actually uses 3 Icebreakers of all types rather than omnibreakers but for now I wanted to talk about the vote I'll be placing in a few days. A vote that as a Shaper lover on it's face doesn't really make a lot of sense. A vote for a Criminal identity rather than a Shaper one. My reasons are simple. 1st. Fairness. Criminal and Anarch only have two identities while my beloved Shapers have FIVE and all Five are interesting in their own right. It just seems right that Criminal gets at least one more, I'm kind of surprised that the choice isn't Criminal vs. Anarch. 2nd. Variety. For the love of GOD anything, anything I can do to get you guys to not ALL play Gabriel would be worth it! Seriously does no one like Andy? I do! I also get 2 out 3 breakers in most of my starting hands and then fight my economy but hey.....I'll work it out. Somehow. Probably.

Anywho I was just curious about who else would be voting and how and who their favorite factions were. Good luck to all who compete that is one SWEET bag yeah?

It's true. FFG will never print another Criminal or Anarch Identity. Certainly not the one they've already spoiled that's being printed in December.

I'll also be voting for Fisk but not for reasons you mentioned. The collective is just too strong. It makes PC be the equivalent of playing a diesel and an easy mark on every turn if you feel like it. It makes MO be 6creds for 2 clicks. That kind of an economy is pretty much unstopable especially since loading up a crypsis will also get you a free click. And even it's disadvantage isn't really a disadvantage since the shapers have such effective tutoring the larger deck size isn't going to matter and the shapers already have the strongest and biggest selection of programs so you don't need the influence that much. I feel like it won't be fun to play with or against the collective so I'm voting for Fisk.

I agree with frybender. I'm voting for Fisk simply because The Collective is way, way, way too strong and a fairly boring deck to play.

Both IDs have been up on OCTGN for a bit over a week and the data is pretty overwhelming. Granted the sample size is still pretty small, but the stats aren't very encouraging.

Laramy Fisk - 53.16% wins. The sample size is still pretty small, but currently this puts him as the weakest criminal (Andromeda being the most powerful and Gabe being in the middle of the pack).

The Collective, though, is nuts. 67.46% wins. That is just nuts. Opening Moves brought a much better balance to the corp-runner disparity, but The Collective will force it the other direction again.

Vote Fisk! Not because he's good, but because The Collective is stupid powerful and a boring deck to build.

Sorry, I'm kinda' new to this version of Netrunner, what do you mean by PC and MO?

Wow I'm surprised to hear that Andy is that powerful! Where I play I'm the only Andromeda player. (and I'm new so my percentage really shouldn't mean much) That's only a 14.3% variance though and having had to use OCTGN back when VS. was kicking I'm not sure how much I would read into that. I for one, would LOVE to have OCTGN shuffle my deck when I play live games! OCTGN isn't always comparable to live results, I've played folks in OCTGN and then live to much, much different outcomes, but from what I've read here It looks like I'm voting for the right thing albeit for the wrong reasons. I'm as tired of playing against Gabe as most OCTGN folks probably are of seeing Andy although now that you've got me thinking about it I can see why she's a great choice in that setting. Those first nine cards must be pretty sweet there.....

PC is proffesional contacts an already very powerful card that would be made ridiculous by the collective. MO is Magnum Opus and it would allow you to get 10 creds a turn if you were the collective
