Mines started, undercoated, first layers of dry brush down.
Bf-109 Messerschmitt Fire spray repaint
Those Bombers look absolutely award winning amazing, to me at least.
It's looking really nice, I'm about half way through doing the front and wings. There is a really nice location on the top/front plate of the wing cowling where an Iron Cross fits perfectly (In your diagram it shows about 5 plates, but on the model it's one solid plate.

BTW were you meaning to have the Aurebesh for ME-109. If you are using the downloadable font it's numbers are a bit iffy. I think the correct version for BF109 should be.

(Also is anyone feeling more geeky than usual, when posting in this thread
)
Bf 109 also go By the name Me-109.
Ah then it's just a case of which Aurebesh looks nicer. yawn... so tired.... Bleh.
OK.... Not quite finished.. the back might be er quite plain... or something... But I like how it came out. Thanks a lot for the sketches they definitely helped, though I made a lot of changes when I got to the actual model.
So, ME-109-8 reporting for duty. Maybe if we get photos of them all from the same angle with a neutral background, I can Photoshop the whole squadron together when we all have ours finished (along with those great Bombers). I think it would look really cool

And a comparison shot with a more classic Slave-1 repaint

Nice
Nice work! I was curious to see the end result, and it worked very well!
I like the paint job. Don't know if I'm a huge fan, personally, of the Iron Crosses, simply because they scream Nazi iconography to me, but it's faithful to the fighter you're patterning it after, and I don't know that I'd have a problem seeing it on a Wings of War/Glory plane, so... I would just be a little wary that it might not go over well with everyone if you bust it out someplace. ![]()
I'm in England, it will be fine, we are very relaxed about such things. The iron cross is much older than WWII, Tracing back to 1219 when the Teutonic Cross was combined with the Cross of Jeruselem. So more German iconography than Nazi iconography. I wouldn't do swastikas as those are very much linked to Nazi Germany, and would be in bad taste.
Edited by Rodent MastermindAh yeah people are a little more twitchy about that stuff sometimes. I'm fully aware the Iron Cross dates back to the Crusades - and there are swastikas I think date back even further that are slightly different than the one adopted by the Nazis. I'm not complaining personally; I just know some people get up in arms about that stuff. Although you have to admit that it is kind of fitting for the 'evil empire' look. ![]()

Yeah I'm sure Lucas never looked at the Third Reich when designing the uniforms of the Imperials.
Total coincidence.

Last spring a big carved stone monument that was carved a hundred years ago by one of the more influential people in my area at the time was defaced with concrete because it included a swastika. It had nothing to do with the Nazis, but some people don't bother to learn about something before they jump off the deep end.
Now I have to get my Fire Spray and paint it. Glad to be able to inspire but I am a little jealous I did not get to paint mine first.

You still have time.. haven't finished the engine block.. and I'm back to painting my TIEs and Bombers, and terrain markers, so it might be a while till I get back to it.
Rodent Mastermind that looks so awesome. May be I will start next payday on mine but I need to get back to my neglected Nebulon- B project at some point. This little side project has been a nice distraction from that beast.
I was going to put up a picture of mine tonight, but seeing RM's I decided it isn't quite as close to being finished as I thought.

Then progress pictures... We demand them.
Looks awesome... Great weathering. I actually don't like the iron cross either, but only because it sort of pulls it out of Star Wars to me. As a long time historical wargamer and owner of a Flames of War German army, that image has only one use. It's like putting an American flag on a Star Wars vehicle... It just pulls me out of the Star Wars universe.
But overall very nice job.
Okay. Here's what I have so far. No weathering yet, but the basic paint scheme is there. I'm thinking to add a few things here and there, but you'll get the idea.
Sorry for the link, for some reason I haven't been able to get embedded pics to work.
hi guys! Nice job, really like the new look. Can you give me a link to the website you used to preview those paintjobs? Or in other word, where did you find "color book" images ![]()
cheers!
