Wedge buddies

By Icecube88mm, in X-Wing Battle Reports

Well I'm new to this game so I was looking at all the attack wings you guys have set up and was surprised to see no x-wing and a-wing combos so I decided to make one well here it is.

Wedge with:

R5-D8.

Push the limit

Tycho with

Push the limit

Concussion missiles

And last Luke with

R2-D2

So what do you guys think please comment below thanks for your time

Looks solid, the only thing I would swap out is R5-D8. It isn't garaunteed to work, and with only 3 hull with which to receive damage cards, you probably won't even get to use it with Wedge. If you swap that out for the standard R2 Astromech, you now have a much easier time clearing the stress that PTL causes.

You now have 2 extra points, which doesn't buy you a whole lot to work with... you could give Luke a 1 or 2 point elite pilot ability, but I am fond of the idea of dropping R2-D2 down to R2-F2 and using the third free point to give Luke push the limit as well. This lets him R2-F2 and still target lock or focus, and Luke is really the only person that benefits a lot from F2 because of his pilot ability. That puts you at an even 100.

Wedge (29) (33 total)

-R2 Astromech (1)

-Push the Limit (3)

Tycho (26) (33 total)

-Push the Limit (3)

-Concussion Missiles (4)

Luke (28) (34 total)

-R2-F2 (3)

-Push the Limit (3)

Thanks I will have to try that out

Don't forget the nutter that is Biggs.

I have used him a coupla times and your opponent HAS to fire at him. Meanwhile his buddies kick the hell out of the impi scum.

Tycho with PTL is a great combo on paper. I haven't tried it out personally, but in theory it seems very advantageous. I think pairing that with some ordinance to up his offensive value is a good idea too.

I used to run Wedge/Biggs/Luke, but played a bit with a Wedge/Biggs/Tycho build. Heres what I ran to some success

Wedge

r2 unit

push the limit

Biggs

Shield upgrade

Tycho

Homing Missles

Push the Limit

Stealth Device

Generally Wedge/Biggs will fly around as a pair, Biggs doing his best to absorb shots while Wedge puts out massive amounts of hurt on everything he can. Flying these 2 together can get tricky, but if you get good at it you will really frustrate your opponents. Tycho, using his PTL and incredible maneuvering options does whatever he wants, basically.

The list that gave me the most fits with this was Han and 2 green squadron pilots with PTL and stealth. The Falcon takes long enough to kill, and the GSP can plink away at x-wings, plus they are extremely deadly up close. Fortunately Tycho always seemed to survive insane amounts of fire, and is basically immune to 2 att ships as long as he keeps up focus/evade
