Corellia Jones

By Danger Bob, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

How goes it? I came up with another oddball character names, Correllia Jones. If you haven't caught on by the name, hold on it'll come to you. He's an intergalactic archeologist, from Corellia (duh), who always lands himself in over his head. He gets by on his cunning and wits, but mostly with taking a beating and using his fists, I've made a build using the Colonist: scholar specialization, but I'm also looking at Explorer scout. Maybe both. Human is his species with brawl and athletics as his racial bonus career skills.

He'll have a trusty blaster at his side, but relies mostly on the shock whip. The core book doesn't have stats on anything like that, but I'm thinking its like a net/ bola but with no range. And does as much damage as a shock glove. Thoughts?

How in the world did you think of combining a Corellian and Indiana Jones? I would never have come up with that combination. They don't even look al... oh.

For what it's worth, there's already a sort of in-universe homage to Indiana Jones named "Corellia Antilles" (aping off of the 'location + common last name' formula). Her real first name is even Henrietya, an obvious reference to Indy's name being Henry.

Well, if you can wait a few months...you can match the Corellian Human race from Sons of Fortune with the Archeologist from Enter the Unknown... :)

One of my first EotE games I ran, I wrote up stats for an electrowhip. I was still fresh when I wrote the stats so if it uses weird rules, then you can blame my inexperience. I made up a custom skill for it, but Melee could easily be used for it in this situation. In my original designs I had it to be able to hit targets at short range, but that got messy and confused my players.

Electro Whip

Skill: Electro whip

Dmg: 6

Crit: -

Range Melee

Activate/Deactivate as an incidental

Encumbrance: 2

Weapon Qualities: Ensnare, Stun Damage

Rarity 7

The reason why my whip does stun damage was because originally it belonged to a slave master who used it to keep his thralls in line. I specifically had the whip look like an inactive lightsaber. When I described the adversary as pulling out a metallic rod-shaped object and stare at it lovingly, their eyes went wide with terror. That is, until he activated it, and a metal coil snaked out of the rod and began to crackle with energy.

Whoa thanks for calling this to my attention! I much prefer the character as a female. Although from the pictures it doesn't look like she has a distinguishing scar on her chin. I call shenanigans!

Are you a sales man for Fantasy Flight Games? And yes.... yes I will buy both of those books!

To go with the theme of the game of being vile and scum, I am stealing your electro whip stats. That is amazing!
