Couple DTF questions.

By jetsetter, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Is the crit revealed before the DTF ship decides to take it or is it taken then flipped face up?

If the DTF ship has taken the evade action, can that token be used to cancel the crit?

We had the second scenario happen in a game, just curious on the communities take of the situation.

Thanks!

DTF???

DTF - Defending, oh

Oops - Draw their fire

Ignore what I said and go with Buhallin...

1. No. Dice Results -> Damage -> Cards. Draw Their Fire pulls dice results, so it's well before the card is drawn.

2. No. For one, only the defender can spend tokens. The timing is also wrong - DTF explicitly says it can pull an uncanceled crit. By the time it's uncanceled, you must be in Step 6, which is past "Modify Defense Dice". So no, for several reasons :)

I'm talking specifically about Draw Their Fire (DTF), is the uncancelled crit revealed (I.e. direct hit--on your already damaged black squadron pilot), so you can decide if you want to take it on the targeted ship or the BSP (which would destroy him). And if the BSP had performed the evade action will that token cancel the DTF crit taken or does the BSP just die (in this scenario)?

Hopefully that's a little more clearer of a question.

Thanks! I almost PM'd you specifically, before posting the question :-)

That's an entirely different meaning of DTF than the one I was thinking of. Glad to see these forums aren't taking a weird turn.
