The Upcoming Page has changed the status of Heroes & Legends (the 1st force pack of the Echoes of the Force cycle) from Q4 2013 to January 2014. Originally, I had assumed that "Q4" would simply put this into November, thereby maintaining a one-per-month release schedule, but sadly it looks as though we will have a 2 month gap... over Christmas, no less.

We'll be having so much fun with Balance of the Force that we won't even notice.

It should have been December as it was announced in September and December is 3 months from September. FFG announcements are always timed for at least 3 months in advance. Plus it is very normal that they have a break after a major release like BotF so the 1 month off in November made sense. That and Worlds is that month too.

In a way I am glad it was pushed back. I have no spare money in December due to Christmas. January sounds much better for my wallet.

More than that, they changed it from being On the Boat to At the Printer. They must have had to turn the boat around.

We only need the rules to play the 2 v 2 and its not like FFG can't have some Challenge decks printed up for the side events.

This is perfectly normal for an LCG. It happened to Netrunner and every other LCG before it.

End of cycle was in September with the release of Escape from Hoth.

Big Box expansion is due to be released October most likely, some time in Q4.

There is usually a 2 month wait between big box expansions and the next cycle.

I think I'm okay with this. I've actually really been getting overwhelmed. A break to get a good solid feel for how all the new cards interact would be nice.

October seems like a pretty optimistic for Balance of the Force though. November might be more likely.

I find October unlikely given that they specifically changed the release from "October" to "Q4." Furthermore, regardless, of the precedence of other LCGs, this does not change the fact that the release information was changed, then changed back, which is the occurrence that this thread was designed to elucidate.

Sounds like they identified an error or Issue and are fixing it before release, I'm sure we would rather have it all correct when we get it. The delay on Hero's and Legends is due to fixing Balance of the Force, so not to worry

This is perfectly fine with me. I'm dividing my SW objective sets by year, counting everything thru BotF as Year 1. This has Year 2 neatly beginning with January 2014.
