First game with wave 3 models

By SleeplessKnight, in X-Wing Battle Reports

I got to play my first game using the wave three models and cards today. It was loads of fun. I found that Major Rhymer and his ability to launch cluster missiles at range 3 is amazing and having Captain Jonus nearby makes damage output from cluster missiles ridiculous against lower agility ships.

Battle report with pictures can be found here:

My apologies if the overlay is a bit messy at times. It was done crapily in MS Paint.

Commentary is included in the description of each picture. Please let me know what you think!

LOL, I love it! Looks Great and easy to follow and understand what was happening. Simple but Genius Idea! Good Work!

Very nice! Great way to present battle reports!

I liked how you had two bombers with two missiles each. That's probably the best way to do it. I just don't get why people say that Y-wings shouldn't have 2x Proton Torpedoes...it's like the same thing!

Major Rhymer is one pilot I really want to try out, but I haven't quite found a build I like yet. But he'll definitely have Cluster Missiles because it sounds like yours were a real success!

Rhymer's ability is plain nasty, it basically means that the range issues on missiles/torps is gone. You opponent just can't close or stay far enough away not to get ordinance up the tail pipe. Run him with PtL for real potency.

You better kill this guy quick or you will get those Homing Missiles and Adv Torps hitting home to devastating effect. Put him with Krassis Trellix with some ordinance or an HLC with enough room for a named Tie with squad leader and watch your opponent wonder who to kill first.

Well maybe I'll give bombers one more try, drop 1 concussion from Jonus and put PTL on Rhymer. The interceptors roaming around might do better than the Ties in formation I tried in keeping the enemy off balance and allowing me to change strategy. Nice report!

That was a bloody brilliant battle report. The action was so easy to follow you didn't even really need the text version. Very enjoyable. I especially like the laser fire coming from the ships. My only critique would be to enhance the laser fire a bit and maybe do the hits in orange. Otherwise very cool and I'm going to steal your concept to use on my own battle rep's.

Agreed. Nice presentation. I should take the time to do this.
