I'm playing through The Frozen Wastes using a market deck comprised of market cards from a bunch of expansions. I had the opportunity to purchase a familiar (the "Thief Lizard" - who is awesome), but I wasn't certain if Familiars were subject to all Ally rules. I know that they don't count against the Ally limit (it says so on the card...), but would they take Frost Damage?

If so, Mr. Lizard wouldn't live very long out in the wastes, as he would die as soon as he had 4 total frost damage (his health is 2). Just an oddball rules situation I wasn't sure how to handle...

Unless I'm gravely mistaken, the familiar cards say you can have ONE familiar without it counting against the ally limit. To me that implies that familiars are allies, and if you get more than one the additional familiars start counting against your ally limit. So you could have 2 familiars and one otehr ally, for example. Or three familiars and nothing else. Having said that, I haven't actually read the rules on familiars too closely yet.
