...my group loved it!
My D&D group is the reconstituted group of players from high school, back together after 25 years. All of us are early to mid 40s, and well seasoned gamers. We've been playing 4e D&D which I have been DMing since we got back together for monthly games.
This month, it was going to be a wash for our regular games as only 2 of the crew beyond myself could make it. Surgeries, other commitments made September a difficult month to arrange. As such, I suggested that I'd introduce them to the game using Escape from Mos Shuuta, and giving them their choice of the six available pregens. One took the Smuggler, the other the Technician.
The long story made short is that we completed the whole adventure in 3 hours. There were only two "real" combats (the Gamorreans and the TIE Fighters), a lot of sneaking and fast talking around the other areas. They even got the brilliant idea of sending a text to Trex summoning him to Teemo's palace while slicing the landing control center's computers. The technician rolled a triumph result in addition to successes... But generated enough threat to get the Overseer's attention. The pilot fast talked her pretending to be an undercover imperial security agent concerned about her apparent lack of security while a Lambda class shuttle was inbound. Brilliant!
They wisely ran away from the storm troopers, and even then discovered how dangerous blaster rifles are. They kept running while fumbling for a stimpack.
They had enough fun that we are going to do it again, but with characters that they make. I'll likely continue with the Long Arm of the Hutt to round out the story of the Krayt Fang. ![]()
Now I am torn. Committed to playing D&D, but now wanting to explore this game more for all the role playing fun we had with it.
