Just had my first session, annnd eh.

By FootNote, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Real Gamers (Christopher West) is currently running an Edge of the Empire actual play podcast. I've only listened to the first episode from that so far but it was fun.

That is the roleplaying equivalent of a couch-potato climbing to the top of Mount Everest the first time he laces-up his boots. :o

That might be a bit of an overstatement. :)

Personally, I think you did well. As far as the one player who you seem to be having a bit of a problem with, if it continues to be a source of ire for you, I would have a discussion with the entire group to talk about the type of game they want to play. It seems like he wants to be a goof and so silly things, but if the entire group has a discussion and the majority of the players say they want to have a more serious, gritty gaming experience, hopefully that will get the idea across to this one player without having to single him out at any point. Additionally, if the majority want a more serious experience and the discussion is done openly and this one player continues to be silly, hopefully the other players will take it upon themselves to say something to him as a group. If he's okay with this and changes his play style, great. If he's not okay with this, perhaps he'll leave the group, which would be for the best if he feels that way.

That might be a bit of an overstatement. :)

Many Bothans died to bring us these recursive hyperboles... :(

Order 66 did half an AP during beta. Though they promised to post the other half of the game, they never did. Hint hint.

Edit: I will say this -- that bit of AP more or less sold me on the system. I think the exact moment was when the crane smashed through the wall. Really illustrated the narrative possibilities inherent in the system.

I had a Star Wars Saga game once where a player named his character Manuel "Manny" Bothans.

It sounded like they were having problems arranging a time to pick the game back up. I believe Andy Hurley was on tour for a long while which made picking up that particular game near impossible.

There is talk of doing another AP series with employees of FFG as the players, but who knows if that will ever come into fruition.
