First game with some wave 3 stuff in it. I was running 100 points of Rebels and my 8 Year old had 100 points of Imperials. My rebel squadron was pretty simple:
Han Solo - YT-1300
-
- Push The Limit (3)
- Chewbacca (4) -
- Gunner (5)
- Shield Upgrade (4) -
- Millennium Falcon (1)
• Total : 63
Ibtisam - B-wing
-
- Autoblaster (5)
- Shield Upgrade (4) - • Total : 37
My 8 year old took:
Boba Fett - Firespray-31
-
Expose (4)
Adv. Proton Torpedoes (6) -
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Mercenary Copilot (2) -
Stealth Device (3)
Slave 1 (0) - • Total : 61
Captain Kagi - Lambda-Class Shuttle (27)
-
Autoblaster (5)
Fire-Control System (2) -
Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)
ST-321 (3) - • Total : 39
It went well at first. I concentrated fire on the Lambda and managed to strip her shields. I had her down to 2 hull points. Boba had TL the B-wing and his Adv. Proton Torp. hit with all 5 and then Kagi finished it off at close range. 9 perfect hits and the B-wing was destroyed but he than found out about the Lambda's weak maneuver dial and ended up flying off the table. At this point we were about even and I figured it would come down to a slug-fest between the two classic rivals. I figured his dice rolling luck was thru for the game but boy was I wrong. No matter how I juked the Falcon around he lined up a shot and had almost 100% accuracy. I manged to strip his shields but alas, it was not to be this day, as Han Solo bit the dust. I then had to endure my kid taking a victory lap around the game store. I may have to work on his sportsmanship skills a bit.
One thing I took from the game is that no matter how good a ship may appear stat wise. It don't mean nothing if you can;t maneuver it well. Both the B-wing and the Lambda have awful dials. I spent most of the game with the B-wing in the “Red” and that just isn't good. Will have to practice more just flying it around the table and thru obstacles.
