characteristics at 3

By malgaf, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hi

From Your expirience is it importanat to invest points in characteristics ( u dont really want) just tu avoid to be easy strained? Is it importatnt to have all stats at 3? its little wired that u can be strained at Fel characteristic

Yes, as a GM I think it's fantastic that the mechanic is there to kick min-maxing in it's stupid face.

ye its ok, but are there any other rules besides insanity that kick PC with 2 characteristicks in the face?

Wizard in my team got stats 2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 2 :P :P

Yup, 2's should mean bad stuff all around. Fellowship 2, you may be smart wizard but when they're handing out goodies in the College you get the stink eye. Conversely, I make my smart player with Int 2 roll Int checks to convine NPC"s of his smart observations - you're not more effective in intelligence as a PC than your PC's intelligence.

Your wizard deserves to DIE.

And he will.

First, he'll pick up loose fatigue nice and quick, so that'll mess him up. The great thing about insanities is that they're great for picking up MORE INSANITIES. Second, he'll have bugger all wounds, and also, his crit threshold is pathetic. So advise him to start writing up his new character NOW.

Low characteristics are risky.

When getting fatigue above any physical characteristic you suffer black dice to all checks with that physical characteristic. Same for stress and mental characteristics. Fatigue and stress are really easy to get.

Low strength will mean low encumberance limit, which means that the mage can carry a lot less before suffering penalties from encumberance. A 2 in strenght also means that the character cannot use the Parry Active Defence.

If you go above twice your toughness in fatigue you pass out, which is really easy to do if you only have T2. Also, low toughness means a low wound threshold and higher risk to die permanently from critical hits. Furthermore it makes for a lower corruption threshold (fun for a mage, not) and a lower resistance to disease and higher risk of death when sick. The character will aslo recover less wounds from resting, and have a hard time shaking any critical wounds. No using the Block Active Defence either with a Toughness of 2.

Low agility would be the least worrysome. It would mean that the character will mostly make really low initiative checks, which is negative for the party as a whole. Furthermore the character cannot use the Dodge Active Defence with only a 2 in Agility.

Risky to say the least to have 2 in all physical characteristics. I usually go for a single 2 as a character "flaw", but having 2 in 4 characteristics is really risky.

Fellowship measures your strength of personality..which ironically would include your id, ego, and super ego. Mental illness is rarely an issue of intelligence or willpower, but of your personality..at least in a fantasy world ;)

In my games, I regularly kill of characters who min-max (and sometimes regular characters just for fun). They're so easy to pick on! Disease pretty much takes care of 90% of people with low toughness, but as TOUGHNESS/SOAK is everything in this game. wounds will do it as well.

One more off topic question

You go unconscious whan u have 0 wounds left or whan You are at -1 ? this rule is same for PC and NPC?

You go unconscious at neg 1 (also known as more wounds than your threshold).

Yes, the rule is the same for NPCs..except usually we just have the NPCs die at negative and run away at one or zero (unless cornered).

Toughness 2 screams for disease checks *muahhahaha*
