game mats

That looks gorgeous. I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat.

The mats are gorgeous, but now I see this I'm getting the feeling that the turn-templates should be coloured differently, they are a bit too invisible on the starry background of the mats.

this is true. but if you had this mat you would also have a completely justified reason to buy brand new, fluorescent acrylic templates!!!

That mat is gorgeous. Why aren't you selling them, so we can buy them? :D

I agree, I would buy that one and would love to see your planet one.

Thanks for the great feedback guys!

Maybe I'll have to look into printing more of them then and getting them up on ebay or something :)

Works underway with the planet design, will post the pics once it's done.

Shut up and take my money! :o

If you'd be willing to ship to the US, I'd also be interested. I really like your mat/image, and am always looking for some unique vinyl ones for my FLGS game nights. I currently own two different space-themed GF9 mats and our store owns like 3.

If total cost was <=$40 USA I'd be exceptionally likely to buy one of these and maybe the planet one if the image was similarly impressive.

Yeah I have four GF9 mats (and counting) but I love those kinds of playing surfaces. If you made some like that at a price that wasn't outrageous I'd buy one (or one of each, probably, let's be honest) in a heartbeat.

Ha :P

Ok...well I'm on the case then guys. I'll work out a price and I'll push on with the planet design and get that done asap.

I'll order one!

Very nice. I do with the outer border was actually the deployment zone, though.

I do not have a mat yet....and yours is.amazing. Cannot wait to see the planet mat you have planned.

Well I dunno if'n mine looks that good, but I can't help but to be proud.....$15 piece of black polar fleece from Satanmart....errr....Walmart.....$3 in acrylic paint from the same place and I had the other paints already.....

Count me in

Must know the details...I am dying to get a nice mat.

I think you've made the nicest mat I've seen yet for this game. I like the extra bit of border and the fact that it has some nice looking nebula, but not so much that it's too busy.

I just received mine from Deep Cut Studios but, as it was folded, it currently looks horrible. Does anyone know how to get creases out of a PVC banner? :(

Do I need to send it back?

It mentioned leaving it out to rest for a "short time" but after an hour and a half it doesn't really look much different.

Man that's tough. Too bad you can't iron it without melting it.

If you had one of the plastic tubes like the GF9 mats come in, you might be able to roll it up and leave it in there a while and see if that helped get the creases out.

That's exactly what I had in mind when I designed it. Didn't want the focus to be the nebula and for it to be to busy. Having a fair bit of it featuring just stars and star clusters I think gives it more of a deep space feel to it.

Like Crooked Wookie said leaving it rolled up for a little might help.

I spent a bit of today looking into packaging for the mats and will certainly be going for poster tubes to post these out... no folding for these babies.

You shut your mouth! Is the Sistine Chapel "busy?" Is Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte "busy?" That is a bad example! Yes, to be honest, iit could be argued it is a little busy. Nevertheless, it is a striking example of Neo-Impressionism and was featured in my favorite scene of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

What were we talking about again?

Quick question is the 3X3' area inside the bourder or is that the prescribed starting area?

If it's just one or two bigger folds then putting some piles of heavy books on top might get the creases out.

While mine is not from Corsec or some such....I cannot help but be proud of it....total cost?

$18....with 3 bottles of acrylic paint....the other colors I already had....but you can do it for under $25 easily....even buying a cheap toothbrush!
