mixed sphere decks

What's a good ratio when deck-building for Mixed sphere decks? I've mentioned in some of my previous posts that I came to this game from the Warhammer Invasion LCG. There, there isn't a whole lot of "sphere/race" mixing. This concept is I suppose a bit strange feeling to me still.

If you're going, say, 2 tactics heros and 1 spirit, is it ideal to do about a 35 tactic/15 spirit ratio 50 card deck build?

Is there any good strategy to keeping the cost of those spirit cards relativley low - not including some of the pricier cards?

When I first started playing WH:I i found some good links on deck-building articles. Any of you have preferred standard guidelines/links you have used for LOTR?

Any help here would be appreciated!

it depends really. what i usually do is the following:

say i was running 2 lore and 1 spirit heroes i would go perhaps 30/20 lore/spirit and put in song of travel and rivendell minstrel to even them out. therefore with the songs i can probably go to a higher ration than i would do without

without songs i would probably put 35/15 as this better represents the resources available.

of course this changes with certain cards. if i had 2 spirit and 1 lore heroes, but the lore hero was bifur, then that is the same as having 2 lore resources per turn. this is quite a good strategy, allowing you to put in a 25/25 ratio.

if leadership was running the same can be said of steward of gondor or other leadership resource generating cards in play, so again i may go 25/25 with leadership as the 1 hero.

another strategy is using elrond to even things out on the ally side. here things can get a little unusual on the ratio side of things with having 1 or 2 cost allies that you arent even running (if i were playing spirit lore with him as a hero i would probably put vassel of the windlord or errand rider it)

The cost of the cards is also an important factor. Cards are useless if you can't pay for them. So when I play a number of games and I realize I never play that awesome 4 cost ally because I'm broke in that sphere, it's time to discard that ally and to bring in some new cards from the other sphere.

Thanks guys!

Yea, I tend to go more for cost balance than card balance. It's still important to get some card balance though, otherwise you could end up with a hand full of 1-cost cards for the sphere that has fewer heroes.
