Storage for Cards

By lynnferd, in X-Wing

I currently store all my pilot cards in a three ring binder using 9 pocket plastic sheets. What I am looking for is a way to store the smaller cards in the same binder. Is there such a thing as pocket plastic sheets with smaller pockets? I have asked in my local gaming store and looked around a little online and can't seem to find anything that will work.

The ones for coin collecting with 12 pockets are supposed to work. I'm going to try that once I can get to the Hobby store and buy some.

What I do for my mini cards i separate them into there own piles. Upgrade, missles, etc and put them in the little baggies that FFG gives you.

I'm also interested in any sort of binder or plastic organizer that has been confirmed for the cards.
I separate out my cards in my storage containers also but its all a bit unwieldy and if anyone has pictures of something that is more suited for this I would be grateful.

I'd love to have all my cards, big and small, in an easy to carry/sort/locate binder and not mixed among all my dials and tokens.

Better take a mini-card with you and test it.

I bought some sleaves from Amazon, that should of worked... But the measurement listed on the page was actually wrong and the pockets were 1/8th of a inch too small.

They did however work quite well to hold the cardboard stat card that goes on the base of the ship.

The standard trading card pockets will hold 2 mini-cards if you put them in sideways. It's not an ideal method, and getting the bottom one out can be a bit tricky, but not that bad.

Would these work, they might be a bit long, but the cards are about the same size as business cards

If those are what I think they are: they open on the sides, you might have a hard time with card security for multiple cards. (but maybe worth a try)

I use the UltraPro binder for all card storage. I put the ship cards in the first half of the binder, and the upgrade cards in the second half. Because the upgrade cards will fall out of the binder's sleeves, I put the upgrade cards inside a plastic card sleeve (any sleeve will do; I used the FFG clear sleeves), and then put that sleeve inside the binder sleeve. Works like a charm.

I picked up an extra Plano storage tray to keep the upgrade cards in. I snagged some rubber cylinders from my work, cut them in half and epoxied them to the bottom of the compartments to keep the cards at an angle to they are easier to grab on to. There are plenty of compartments for all the types of upgrade cards, plus some extras for new types.

I use plano

One for figures, actually I ended up with more than enough from 2 more TIE, 3 bombers, 3 B-Wings and 3 HWK-290. Took the dice out.

One for setup

and finally...

I keep one out during play which has tokens, damage cards, reference cards, range and measurement guides.

5 total and keeps everything separate.

I use an Ultra pro dual deck box.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AF827D0/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has 2 compartments. One upright deck that is currently holding 65-70 pilot cards with space for about 10-15 more, and A side loarding compartment that is perfect for damage and upgrade cards. It is currently holding 85 cards with room for atleast 20 more. These are all sleeved btw.

For my cards I have two storage containers, both the standard folded cardboard card boxes. A 100 card holder for pilot cards and a 500 for upgrade cards. For the upgrade cards I split the box with a cut piece of plastic card to separate left and right side. I "t" the center divider with another piece of cut plastic card with a slit down its middle designed to be just large enough that it can slide but will catch and break against the center divider; this makes the "t" slider adjustable. Cheap, effect, and affordable. All these items can be purchased at a gaming store and the plastic card is thick enough to hold shape but thin enough to cut with a pair of scissors (real scissors, not the ones your mother lets you use :) )

I use the Estándar boxes forom shipping, but for 200 cards, and for the upgrades I found a box of same material, but in México is very difucult to get a good container for this kind of stuff, greettings.

I currently have one of each of these, I recently had to buy the red one because of wave 4:

They are both decently priced and Prime if you have that on amazon.

The top clear layers are great for tokens and maneuver templates, and I just keep that section on one side open during play. I also cut out all the little blisters that ships come in originally and just set them in the dividers, for the large ships in the larger compartments I just surround the blister with a foam insert I cut to fit it so that they don't slide around. The blue case holds all the ships in my signature. The tops of their little bubbles are also flush with the top of the box so when you shut it, and since its not permanent I can rearrange them whenever I want. There's also room on the other side for dials, bases, and cards. The components of everything I own fit in those two containers, except for my range 5 ruler even when its folded with just one peg in. I might need to get some more storage once wave 5 hits though...
