With the way netrunner and starwars run what would u all think if WHI tournys ran like they do? As in netrunner u have to bring a runner and a corp deck to the table , in starwars u bring a light and a dark side deck what if ...ffg
u had to bring both a order and a destruction deck to the table to decide who is overall winner? ........and go!
Just an thought?
Please no.
Asymmetric gameplay is one of the reasons I don't like netrunner.
Yeah that was what kept me from getting into Netrunner as well. I wen't "wow this looks really good and it is so highly rated. What I have to build two decks?!?......I'm out!"
I don't think the post is suggesting asymmetric play, but rather that in a match players play both order and destruction. Matches would probably be run as each player plays each side once and most combined burned zones wins in the case the payers split the games. It is an interesting idea that may be worth trying out at a local game night, but with the speed of Warhammer, I think a best two out of three match structure works best for serious competition. I'd encourage people to try the alternate format as it could be fun.
Edited by cparadisI would concede that point. I don't think the original poster was intending for asymmetric play. I am just the type to work on one deck at a time and pour all my energy into making that deck the best I can. Bringing two decks to me would just detract from the attention and playtesting I can give each deck, and honestly hope they don't go that route.
That said I would agree that it would be an interesting alternate format to try out to spice it up from time to time.
I suppose it would cut out mirror matches.
I tend to play a deck I enjoy playing rather than a few designs so I would dislike playing another deck. Focusing on tweaking here and there and identifying weaknesses.
