More Escape From Hoth spoilers

By The Gas, in Star Wars: The Card Game

Smuggler's Den has revealed the Jedi pod on their FB page, consisting of the objective,

a new pilot version of Luke,

...and FOUR cards we're already well-acquianted with from previous pods:

Tauntaun

Snowspeeder

Heat of Battle

Battle of Hoth

On the one hand this looks very good, but on the other it's pretty disappointing to see so many reruns. Interesting that this pretty much forces speeder decks to make the tough call of whether to include Luke or the Renegade Y-wings. Shame this isn't Luke's debut in the Rebel faction.

Meanwhile, Team Covenant just spoiled the DS neutral pod (ladies and gentlemen, we have a new contender for worst pod in the game), along with one card from the Scum pod, on their Youtube channel:

Oh man, I just realized... there's nothing in the rules AFAIK against a vehicle having more than one pilot enhancement. Rogue Three + Wedge + Luke = 4 objective damage, 3 unit damage, 1 tactics, all black. AND it gets to do all that twice per turn cycle. Granted this snowspeeder Voltron would cost 7 resources, but it's payable in installments over 2 or more turns, so that's no big deal. I think this is why Luke is still Jedi even though Rebel would have made more sense thematically: if you could field that monster and have it protected by Renegade Escorts, your opponent would have every right to cry hax.

You are correct, as there is no limit to enhancements played upon Unit cards. That is why Rogue 3 is so significant and plays just like a Vehicle version of Yoda. Stack as many enhancements on either of those two as you can to gain a huge amount of BLACK Unit and Blast Damage Icons.

I can't watch the video at work. Does anyone have OS list for me to update my preview file? Screen caps would be best, though.

They also spoiled the Scum ship

Khiraxz-class Assault Fighter

"Reaction: When this unit focuses to strike capture target enemy unit that costs 1 or less if you won edge"

Pop quiz

1. How many LS units cost 1 or less? (If a unit shows up multiple times in a set or multiple sets just count it once)

2. Of all of those units, how many are in sets that see heavy play?

3. Does anyone else feel like capturing a 1 resource or less unit is a kick in the pants for 3 resources?

4. How often will captuing a 1 resource unit be relevant?

1. 19 different Unit Cards between the Core, the first four Force packs and Edge of Darkness. With the inclusion of The Battle of Hoth, 2 more Light Side Units of 1 cost. Total of 21 for now.

2. Not many.

3. Typical 1 cost Units seem not very useful to capture. Any Unit of 1 cost or less that provides resources would be useful to capture. Units such as C-3PO, Repair Droid, Hoth Scout, Munitions Expert and Massassi Temple Lookout each have card effects you may not want to see. I think it would definitely be worth it to capture C-3PO, Repair Droid and any Unit that provides resources to my opponent.

4. Not often unless your opponent runs tons of Units with resources or effects like C-3PO that cancel enemy events.

That being said, its another Scum and Villainy Unit card that has Blast Damage so that's a bonus but I'd have to look over the entire Objective Set before adding it into my deck. It would not be worth it just for this one card and that may just be because the Objective or another card in that Set is better. We will have to wait and see.

The remaining cards have been spoiled over on BGG.

wow, that scum set, other than dengar, is terrible......sigh

Par for the course.

I think Dengar is ok but he is working against the grain of the Scum. The Scum want to capture stuff at Jabba's Reach and Hunt them Down to get more resources and cards and Dengar wants you to put them on him to gain icons.

YES! A LS card that has more than one blast damage icon. More Luke Skywalker-esque cards. LS needs some gas.

Another Luke Skywalker Jedi affiliation card? That gives me great hope for a better copy of Boba Fett.

mmmmm yessss.

All of the cards from the Escape from Hoth force pack are on CardGameDB now.
