I was talking about the Bounty Hunter Mission that comes with Slave 1 where one ship can take 2 Elite Pilot (medal) upgrades. Special mission rules allow this, it's not possible with any upgrade card.

What pleasant surprise, totally unexpected. This made my day.
Now it's totally clear that EU will be the way to go for FFG.
I already had 4 interceptors, but I don't care at all. I plan on getting 2 of these packs anyways. Just the pilots and cards are worth it alone. This way I can use my 'normal' interceptors for repaints, modifications, or simply wait for those epic scale battles with my swarm of interceptors.
If the Royal Guard Interceptor had its fins this would have been a 10 out of 10 score. You were a bit lazy there, FFG. That's why you only get 9/10 from me. Time to buy some plasticard I guess.
but it was be nice if they release a schedule.
I wonder how much of what they're doing is "Lets try this and see how it goes". Which makes a schedule sort of hard to do.
I mean it clearly takes time and resources to design the packaging, cards, set up the alt-paint and the rest. But a fair amount of what they've done lately with the Transport, CR-90 and now the Imp Aces seem to be test cases. See how well they sell and then decide if they want to push forward with more.
I think the Aces pack is brilliant. I've been saying from the start I'd love to see them release either packs with just new cards and pilots, or packs with alternate paint jobs (and new cards and pilots) and I'm thrilled to see them go all out on it. As someone else pointed out - tons of paint options for X-Wings, A-Wings, Y-Wings, TIEs, you name it, and the new cards and upgrades and pilot options are awesome. I can't wait to see what other packs they put out down the road.
As someone said - an A-Wing aces pack with a Green Squadron and a Prototype would be, well, aces.
They should have included an Emperor crew card with set to go with the new Lambda.

Yep just going have to make an Emperor card up with the stats of Darth Vadar.

That being an Emperor card would have made a lot more sense, because you'd just assume that he was trying to throw Force lightning around while being crammed into an airlock by Vader. Of course he'd be damaging his own ship at the same time. ![]()

I still want to know how on Endor the Emperor died. Jedi and Sith seem to be immune to falling damage. Obi Wan getting shot off a riding beast over a pit when Order 66 came in, Ventress having the rock ledge she was on crumble over a lake a lava, Darth Maul cut in half and dropped down a pit, Kota, blinded, then dropped through a glass floor over a planet... Wasn't the Emperor meant to be quite good.
royal guard Tie(0) + Push The Limit(3) + Targeting Computer(2)!
lets u focus+target lock. wow thats impressive. firepower not seen on a non-x.wing fighter before. not bad for a 5pt investment.
I like that on Soontir even more than normal, because he can boost/barrel roll into range 1, target lock for the stress and get a focus token out of the deal. Now that's a scary beast!
While I am still not ok with repaints, FFG did actually go and make new cards for old ships. So I think we got a 50/50 out of this. I am curious to see what a Rogue Squadron box might look like.

I'm holding out hope (probably a false hope, but still ...) that this may be a case of "the final product may differ from promotional images," and that the RGIs will have their extra fins at release.
Now it seems only a matter of time before Rogue Squadron comes out in a Rebel Aces pack.
Meta wise, what they need to do is add some upgrades for the A wing (rear arc, +1 die to attack, and/or 2 for 1 missiles) a crew upgrade for the Y wing, and Corran Horn as a pilot.
Then I'll go all gooey inside. ![]()

it wasnt the fall that killed him, it was the power core thingy at the bottom of that pit. but for those who have delved into EU, you know only his body died, he was reborn into a clone on Byss.

I think you forget that when he fell it was into some sort of reactor with a large explosion when he hits "bottom".
Edit: Awe man, you beat me to it ![]()
Wow… I wanted for an expansion card but one that include ships with different paint jobs….? Never think that I’ll see that…
Love this expansion, and those TIE/ln in crimson… sweet…
Now, this is an “expansion” like the Transport, so still wondering what will came on the next wave… ![]()
For those that knows about EU, didn’t the Royal guard interceptor has different stats than a regular interceptor?
Doesn´t matter too much, I just own 2, so I will definitely buy one of this expansions. ![]()
does anyone know if this is a special release and has nothing to do with wave 4?
also, i remember reading somewhere that they plan on only having about 30 ships for this game. are these included in that total? as well as the large ships?
if they are than that does not bold well for those of use who want to see more EU ships, and not reprints of what we already have with new pilot cards and paint jobs.
dont get me wrong ive been waiting for something like this, just hope it doesnt count against the ship total they talked about.

I was super excited when I so this. (and I played rebels all the time).
anyone else see those 6 little cardboard counters to the left of the pilot cards in the picture?
i cant quite make them out, looks like blue and yello numbers at bottom, maybe upgrade cards to put on base?
and that the RGIs will have their extra fins at release.
I think that's pretty unlikley...
As it stands all these are is a repaint of the existing model. Adding the extra fins means makeing the fins and increasing the build time of the models. Plus the named pilot artwork doesn't even include those fins.

I think those are new mission tokens as the description of the mission talks about "six different prototype technologies".
Oh and ![]()

Oh, I completely agree, and am in no way expecting any changes -- I was just having a little fun with my inner Don Quixote and dreaming the impossible dream. ![]()

They are Interceptors that are modified with the latest tech, Shields etc. Seeing that they can take 2 modifications this fits quite well. They also generally have Hyperdrives, but that doesn't really fall into the purview of the game.
Love this announcement. I can't wait to see what other ships will be getting this treatment. Honestly this is a great way to expand the game without jumping right into waves four and five and running out of good ships to make.
Edit: That's for modifications Ken. I think he is talking about the mission scenario where one designated ship can take an extra elite talent.
Totally agree! It's also a way of adding more ship without resorting to obscure and far fetched EU ship which only the diehard fanboys have ever heard about. I'll probably get some but only if still available since between the forummembers here I do not think there's any left for anyone else :-P
Oh, I completely agree, and am in no way expecting any changes
I understand.
I'm not quite as well up on my EU stuff as others, but have there been any examples of the EGI without those extra fins?
Also, adding those fins would be a fairly simple and easy project if you could find some. Perhaps someone will make some though Shapways.
