I find it interesting that they've skipped straight to SWX21 for this expansion.
Also, they have this set listed at $30 for those not interested in digging into the site.

No, I'm not kidding, I've had dreams about seeing those paintjobs realized since I read that book years ago. It is my favorite X-Wing book, and when I took it to have Michael Stackpole sign it, he looked at it and pronounced it the "most well loved copy he had ever seen." Other's had shown up with factory fresh copies of books and comics, not a page worn, not a spine broken, but there I was with my original, creases, dog ears, worn pages and all. I just wish I had gotten him to sign that on the inside, instead I got "Best Wishes" but that's good enough.
Edited by DrendarThis is the reason why I haven't started repainting any of my ships. I just knew we were going to see alternate paint jobs before long. Not that I'm complaining because its always good to have an excuse to buy more X-wing. I can now max. out my Intercepters with one boxed set. FFG could help me out alot if they would do the following alt. paint jobs:
- A-wings in Blue and Green
- Firespray 31 (Painted as the "Andrasta" with the Twi'lek dancing girl on the side of it)
- YT-1300 (Stellar Envoy)
- B-wing (Hex Metoni's in blue and red with the rebel alliance icons)

You could probably find someone at any game shop that would make this dream a reality for you without waiting for FFG!

I wouldn't mind paying 29.95 for two ships with the upgrade cards. The price is like buy 2 expansion packs. I think I am going to get 2 sets of it if I have enough money maybe get a total of 4 sets. So I can run 4 Royal Squints with the Lambda and imagine Emperor Palatine is in it.
I definitely like this expansion approach better than just getting a deck and some ship tokens. I wonder if anything else will be released before the holidays? Rebel Aces would be cool, no matter which ship(s) were chosen to customize.

Gold was just a standard squadron though wasn't it? Wouldn't an "elite" Y-wing squadron be something like defender or aggressor wings?

I find it weird that they completely jumped over SWX11. I assume SWX16-19 will be Wave 4 ships. SWX20 is the Star Map Pack.

Books should NEVER have dog ears, use a bookmark if you care about books. Very cool though.

not doing it with large ships is leaving money on the table. Smart companies don't do that.
It isn't a matter of doing it or not that bothers me. It might be okay if they reprint all of the miniatures but it was be nice if they release a schedule. Without that, to me at least, it seems like they are hurting the little guy. Sure I'd like a few of each, maybe 3 or 4. But if you buy 4 interceptors and 2 YT-1300s only to find out they're releasing more that has a better paint job and different cards you might have waited, or staggered your purchases.
Without releasing a schedule they are not really giving you all of the options of the game. So like other companies and games it really becomes more about money (collectability) than miniatures. Will that hurt them in the long run or not? I can't say but,
I'm sure some will go on buying 8 TIE swarms now and if there is a new release 8 more; 4 Interceptors now and if there is a new release 4 more. 2 YT-1300's now and... But for those on a budget, maybe with families and bills... then maybe when Wave 4 comes out instead of purchasing 3 or 4 I could get just one; then wait and see if they come out with other upgrades. Besides, I play for fun not in tournaments. I've gotten into miniature games where packaging didn't match the squad numbers; latter they change the squad number after you purchased what you needed; collectible items were hard to find and/or expensive. No thanks!

Except multi upgrade is TIE interceptor only isn't it?
It is an elite pilot skill. Which have never been tied to specific ships. Why would they start now?
Oops I was talking about a ship title that allowed two mods,
I was talking about the Bounty Hunter Mission that comes with Slave 1 where one ship can take 2 Elite Pilot (medal) upgrades. Special mission rules allow this, it's not possible with any upgrade card.
