If you are taking HLC's on B's I think you do need 3 of them....splitting them up.
If your only taking two and buffing them, why wouldnt you take dual firesprays instead? More resiliant.

Because that only leaves you with 20 points to spend if you take no other upgrades and you limit yourself to TIEs as backup. B-Wings leave you 42 points and pretty much any rebel ship, which make better wingmen for them since they don't disapper so quickly.
Also, the small base ship is easier to keep in HLC ranges since it doesnt displace as far as the large base, and the B has barrel roll which is also a nice perk.
Edited by Hida77Why not just table this:
Blue Squadron Pilot (22) (29)
-Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Blue Squadron Pilot (22) (29)
-Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Chewbacca (42)
Fly the B's in front and have Chewie bring up the rear. You have a TON of HP, 4 dice at any range for the B's to melt large ship faces and the 3-dice turret to eat dodgy lists.

Funny, thats exactly what I thought of after typing my prior post. I may try this as well =).
I came up with that list too, am yet to try it out though, as I like the options of 2 x wings, but I have considered it
I've played quite a few matches with 3 b-wings (2 blue & Ibistam) all with HLC/Fire Control System and It's been pretty brutal so far. 4 Dice with focus usually cripples a ship in a turn, if not dusting it outright. The FCS lets me pound on Large ships with Focus/Target Lock. and 24 damage is nothng to sneeze at.
I played 3 dagger B-wings w/hlc and fcs and in three games I took one damage card. They are pretty tough bastards.
I giggled when I saw 2 b-wings w/hlc and two x-wings. I gotta build that one.
