Ok guys I just started playing this week and here's what I bought so far....

2 X Starter Boxes

2 X Slave-1

2 X YT-1300

1 X A-Wing

1 X B-Wing

1 X Y-Wing

1 X HWK 290

1 X Lambda Shuttle

1 X Tie Interceptor

1 X Tie Bomber

Ok so I have these ships.... I didn't think I needed to get the single blisters for the X-Wing and Tie Fighter, but from what I'm reading, I take it you get different pilots in those blisters? Does the X-Wing come with a Wedge Pilot card?

Yes it does. The X-wing comes with Wedge, who is a 9 skill pilot and his ability lowers enemy agility by one when he attacks them. And Garven Dreis, red leader, a 6 skill pilot who, when he spends a focus can pass it to an ally. The tie also has three new unique pilots.I forget which ones come in that and which are in the core. Plus the upgrades that come in both sets.

I think you'll definitely want one each of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter expansion... definitely some new stuff that is worth getting. Most notably, Wedge in the X-Wing and Howlrunner in the TIE Fighter (both must have pilots to me). Unless you can find just the cards and ship tokens on eBay or someplace else.
