Is wave 1 OOP?

Nope - It's being printed now - according to the FFG upcoming, we should see another batch of them in q4 2013 , so probably november / december

From a newcomer to the game, would you expect they are going to be exactly the same as the first wave releases? I am just curious if I need to drop the extra money on the first waves people are selling, or just wait for the re-release if they will be the same...

They should be the exact same.

I would wait for the re-release unless you can get a deal on someone's minis they are trying to get rid of. FFG has said, and we all hope they do not change, Star Wars: X-Wing is NOT a collectible game where some pieces are rare or unique. That doesn't mean that some day in the future something that doesn't sell won't go out of print; but at this point it doesn't appear to the case.

Hey guys, just a little curious about the data about the re-release of wave 1... Where is that info coming from? I've talked to all the LGS around me and it seems none of them are aware of the reprint... Just want to have some validation on this. Cheers.
