So another fun character I made is the boxer. This build starts off being neat early and just gets better.
You begin as a doctor and then take gadgeteer and follow it up with marauder
The idea is to maximize punching damage using pressure point (doctors talent) that bypasses soak.
In the doctors tree it takes 40 xp to get Pressure Point. And 20 more if you want to add in Anatomy lessons for particularly high strain level creatures.
In gadgeteer we are going straight for toughened down to dedication stopping only to pick up
deadly accuracy (brawl). 95xp
In maurader we spend 20xp for toughened and 2 feral strengths (+2 damage for brawling)
Using heavy battle armor we can get +1 strength from a mod
Starting with a 4 strength 3 int build we can get 6 strength by this method +1 from dedication +1 from armor mod.
Now with maxing medicine and brawl we are dealing the following damage
6 from brawn +2 from feral strength, +5 from medicine, +5 from brawl
For a total of 18 strain per hit unsoakable before additional successes on the roll
For an additional 80xp you can pick up another feral strength for 19 base strain per hit
If you have to knock out a hutt crime boss with 1 punch or an emperor's hand you can burn a destiny point using anatomy lessons for +3 more damage based on your int.
The best part is unlike my disintigration or talky build this only takes one action and thematically works on just about any creature and you have them subduded to finish those wanted alive contracts.
PS the rancor has a glass jaw he always goes down in the first round
Yes you have to get in close enough to punch someone but the build is not a one trick pony you will still be a great party healer and a competent mechanic at the least
