Promo Revnant

By Nasuko, in UFS General Discussion

I just have a quick rules question about the new promo revnant. His first ability, is While this card is ready, all attacks get -1 damage. I was wondering if he gives the -1 damage and I commit him would the attack get the damage back? and if not if he were to get readied would the attack then get a 2nd -1 damage? I'm just curious how this stagnant works.

There's a new promo Revenant?

Yeah he's april's prize support along with Ninon.

While he's committed, the -1 to all attacks is gone, thus he can only give -1 to all attacks.

Dang I hope we get our support soon I always liked him in the game.

Pics and/or Second effect please?

seconded.

If no one else can get pics posted by Sunday night then I'll put them up (I'll get my April promos then).

And while you're at it may I see promo rock? <3

Revenant's second effect is something along the lines of:

If this is commited your opponents unblockable attack is now blockable.

He is like a 6/27

Death earth and life?

I just can't help but wonder...WHY? Why Revenant?

There are still 9 bonus characters who haven't received any character cards yet....(Abelia, Aurelia, Girardot, Hualin, Hwang, Li Long, Luna, Lynette, Valeria)

And FFG goes and make a new Revenant card? What's up with that?

Anyway, about the card itself, in the other topic about Promo Revenant, someone said both of it's abilities are static text, meaning they are harder to counter...As far as I know, one of the only way to stop them is with Command the Sandstorm and it's card text wiping abilites...

Promo Rock Howard's pic has been around for quite a while but I can scan him anyway if you want.

FFG is choosing to continue to distribute part of the SC9P promo run that was created by STG back in 2007.

Also, since their license has changed from SCIII to SCIV, they have to be careful about what characters they release.

Revenant, while not playable, is still in Soul Cal IV as an opponent in the tower of Souls.

hold on so Ninon is released in April so she will be legal for the PoTM event?

I'm pretty sue they can still release SC3 cards that were already printed, they just can't make new ones. I mean if that was the case don't you think they would have released all SC3 promos that are left a long time ago?

Yes.

So, if that's really the case...then...I'll go back to how I felt when I first realized they were abandoning Soul Calibur 3 for Soul Calibur 4. Disappointed. I wish they would have waited a little longer and not wasted those characters. It's really a shame. Especially because they gave priority to the male villains...what a surprise. Notice how most of the unused SC3 bonus characters are female? And how only one of the characters could be considered "evil"? They could have at least tried to use a better variety of characters, but they chose to go with almost all the evil guys. Really boring, especially because Soul Calibur has too many weird evil guys anyway.

That's why...I don't have much hope for UFS getting the bonus characters from Soul Calibur 4, because they are all girls. (I'm not counting the Star Wars characters, because that's a different thing entirely, they have their own movesets and they are a completely different license)

Change that to:

"I don't have much hope for UFS getting the Bonus Characters from SCIV because they are all licenced to Namco from their original artists who created them."

And you're probably right.
