Sensor Jammer and Focus tokens, Marksmanship, Luke card

By RealGenius, in X-Wing Rules Questions

How does Sensor Jammer interact with Focus tokens and other upgrades that modify eye results?

If I previously spent a Focus token as an attacker, does it not convert that eye to a hit? What about Luke or other things that change eyes to Criticals?

They have to work, right? Otherwise, why would it say change hit to eye, instead of a blank?

Defender modifies attack dice first, so you wouldn't have spent your Focus token as the attacker yet (unless you used it for Deadeye or Blaster Turret, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the question you were asking).

The secuence always is:

1. You roll dice

2. Your opponent messes your roll

3. You try to clean up the mess

The only rule is that you cannot re-roll each given die more than once. So, if your opponent re-rolls a die, you can't reroll the same die again. Other than that, cards and abilities are free to modify dice results, following the above secuence.

Is it specified anywhere who modifies the attack dice first?

Never mind, I read page 11. Defender modifies first. For some reason I thought abilities happened after dice were modified.

I forget, does that work the same on attack AND defense?
Or when doing defense dice, does the attacker get a chance to mess with those first in retaliation?

Defender modifies attack dice first.

Attacker modifies defense dice first.

Defender modifies attack dice first.

Attacker modifies defense dice first.

Vengeance it is.

Usually, it is easier to remember that if one player rolls dice (attack or defense, it doesn't matter), his opponent always modifies the roll first, and then, the rolling player makes his own (last) modifications.

Hey, you remember it your way, I'll remember it mine.
